Tris POV
I stare at the almost-empty street absentmindedly as I wait for Zeke to come by to pick up is usual load for him and his brother. My forehead lets out trickles of sweat as the day keeps getting hotter.
Its been 2 hours.
Its been 2 hours and I need that idiot to come by in the next ten minutes or else im going to start looking suspicious standing here in front of this alleyway with a broken down, brown suitcase.
"Hey Prior! You got the stuff?"
I hear Zeke before I see him coming the street toward me.
"Where the hell have you been?" I shoot at him the question in a quiet yet urgent voice as I quickly lead him toward the end of the alley, opening my suitcase behind the huge trash bin covering us from the opening of the alley.
"I had business to do, you know?"
I glare at him.
"Yes I know! What do you think this is?!"
He stares into the case filled with a variety of drugs with red, wet eyes.
"Calm down. Calm down,"He looks over the load with wanting,"How much can I get with a hundred?"
I calculated the amount with the cost and thought it over.
"You want the heroine right?"
"Yes of course,"he replies eagerly with tired eyes.
"Well than I need more than just a hundred."
His whole face changed to a look of disappointment but than brightened up slightly.
"Ill take anything I can get with this than"He urged the hundred dollar bill into my hands and pleaded with his eyes.
"Yeah, calm your druggie self and ill give you some of this"
I give him some of the cheapest drug that I have and he scurries away immediately after he receives it.
He is throwing his life away with this crap.
And i'm helping him while throwing my own away as well.
-page break-
I started closing the suitcase as I saw dim red and blue lights appearing at the end of the alleyway where the street is.
Shit.
My eyes widen as I realize that the police is near. This street is always empty except for some homeless and drug addicts. Though the people usually are both.
I hid myself behind the large trash bin and silently pray that they just keep passing through the rocky road.
I clench my hands on the handle of the case and feel myself start shaking from panic.
What if someone told the police about me? But I highly doubt any of my customers would actually rat me out. They'd die before doing something that'll take their precious "medicine" away.
But then who?
I realized that the sirens from the car were louder as each second ticked by.
"Be brave, Tris,"I tell myself.
Tobias POV
My eyes scanned the deserted streets as I drove the siren-blaring car. Apparently there's a suspected dealer on one of these streets and I was going to arrest him.
I couldn't find anyone suspicious for the first few minutes, just the usual homeless and strangers glaring at me as I drove past them.
My leg ached as i pushed the pedal to move a bit faster. The pain can thank my dad for being there. One slight controversy and that's all it takes to throw him off.
I was lost in my thoughts as I saw a flicker of movement behind an old trash can in the alley. It was too fast for me know what it was, anyway I got out of the car and made my way to can.
My curiosity was taking over me...
