What did that stupid fire eater DO?!

I had just gotten back home from the guild after looking for Natsu. I wanted to go on another job so that I could make my rent this month but, when I opened the front door and crossed the threshold, that thought flew from my mind. My whole place was a wreck Books and papers and clothes were scattered all over the floor. The fridge was open and food had been pulled off every shelf and thrown across the tiled floor. As I walked slowly from room to room, assessing the damage, I paused outside my bedroom door.

C'mon Lucy. It couldn't be any worse.

It was. When I opened the door, my room was unrecognizable. My clothes were thrown all over the room while the papers from my manuscript were thrown in with them. My desk chair was toppled over on the other side of the room and my bed was bare. No sheets or blankets or pillows on it. They were around here somewhere. As fury finally began to overtake the initial shock, I ran towards the closest sheet of paper that was covered in writing when, I tripped on something hard and fell flat on my face.

"Ouch! What in the-"

I turned toward the hard object that I tripped over to see a slight bit of pink hair peeking out from beneath a pile of clothes, papers, and my missing blanket.

"… NATSU! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!"

I uncover him to find his sleeping form curled up in the pile of my things and begin shaking him viciously.

"Wake up! Right now, you stupid dragon slayer!"

"Five more minutes."

Natsu grumbled as he rolled over and began to snore. I was shaking with rage by the time I smacked him on the head and he sprang up, rubbing the place where my hand had connected.

"Ow Lucy! Why did you- LUCY!"

"Natsu, what have you d-"

I fail in an attempt at completing my sentence as Natsu jumps up and wraps his arms around my shoulders. I stand there with no words coming to my mind as he lays his forehead against my neck.

"N-Natsu. W-what are you doing?"

I stand there waiting for his answer when finally I hear him mumble into the curve of my neck and sigh.

"I can't understand you when you mumble."

"I thought I had lost you, Lucy."

My eyebrows furrow together in confusion as I gently push him away to get a good look at his face.

"I'm right here Natsu. What are you talking about? I told you that I was just going to be at the guild with Levy."

Natsu looks down at my covered floor with, what seems to be, embarrassment.

"I-I had a bad dream where I wasn't able to save you when we were on a job and when I woke up, it felt so real. I rushed over here to see you and make sure you were okay but, you weren't here."

He grins at me with the color of his hair staining his cheeks.

"I guess I should've checked the guild before tearing up your apartment, huh?"

I can't help but smile at him and think, Oh, how Natsu.

"Why were you so concerned, though? You've never gone to this much of an extreme."

Now, his whole face blends into his hair and he clears his throat multiple times before staring at the ground once more. I cannot help but be perplexed at his behavior.

"U-uh. Well, I guess I realized how much you really mean to me, Lucy. When I thought of you being gone, I didn't know what to do."

Dumbfounded for the second time that day, I just stared at him.

"W-What are you saying?"

"I guess I'm saying I really like you, Lucy. I love you."

I stand there staring at him before launching myself at him, knocking our bodies to the ground as I entwine my arms around his neck and look down at him with my lips curving into a smile before I placed mine upon his. As I broke our lips apart, I looked at him as my fingers combed through his hair.

"Well it took you long enough. You stupid fire eater."
