A/N: Here's a one-shot from Chapter 6, when Tris told Tobias about Dylan, from Tobias' POV. I couldn't find a spot in the story for this, so I decided to make it a separate one-shot. I have a few more one shots like this that will go along with future chapters, so make sure to check back here, or get on the alert list if you are interested in reading these. Tobias' Reaction to Tris going out with Dylan
Tobias POV
"DylanaskedmeoutandIsaidyes," Tris blurts out.
I cough and my eyes widen. She sounds nervous, scared, and unsure of herself.
"Dylan did what?" I ask, making sure I heard her right. This can't be happening; this has to be a dream. She speaks, more calmly this time.
"Dylan asked me out. And I said yes."
These words bring my world crashing down. I start pacing, pinching myself, hoping to wake up. I'm angry. Anger isn't the best word to describe what I'm feeling right now. I'm pissed, angry, sad, mad, and I really want to punch a wall. This isn't how it's supposed to go. Tris is supposed to be going out with Dylan; she's supposed to be with me. I wasn't going to ask her out just yet, because I thought it was too soon. Stay calm, Tobias, don't scare her away, I think to myself, over and over. If I scare her away, I won't ever have a chance dating her. I take some deep breaths, and slowly I start to calm down.
"That little piece of shit took my girl, and I can't do anything to stop him," I mumble under my breath, hoping that she doesn't hear me.
"So you're with Dylan now," I say, calmly, but sadly. I have to admit, I'm sad. So many emotions are going through my body. I
"Hey, let's go back outside to the campfire, you can meet Dylan. He's nice, you'll like him," She says. She thinks he's nice. Just nice. Tris doesn't deserve a guy whose 'nice' she deserves a guy who will fly across the country just to hug her when she's sad.
We walk out to the fire, and I see that asshat cuddling with Lynn. He better not be cheating 15 minutes after he asks a girl out. We walk over to them, and they jump apart. HAHA caught red-handed. Tris doesn't seem to notice, and if she did, she must not care.
Dylan pats the area beside him, and Tris sits down next to him. At least it's not his lap. Then, he snakes his slimy arm around her waist. That should be my arm.
"Dylan, this is my friend, Four. Four, this is my-uh Dylan," Tris says, introducing me to Dylan. At least she didn't call him her boyfriend.
I start glaring at Dylan, while Tris makes small talk with Lynn. After a while of Dylan cowering under my stare, Truth or Dare begins, and I zone out for the rest of the night.
