"Oh Steven, this place is beautiful," Jackie gushed. He'd taken her to dinner at a nice restaurant in Kenosha.

"Well we've been dating for two years now and I wanted to do something special," Hyde answered self consciously.

"Well it's very sweet," Jackie told him kissing him sweetly. Hyde smiled she had no idea what he was planning.

They had finished dinner and were about to have dessert when Jackie excused herself to go to the ladies room. Hyde drew in a breath trying to calm himself. He wanted to have a cigarette so bad right then but he knew it wasn't the right time. He had something more important to do. The waitress returned with there dessert just as Jackie returned from the bathroom her lipstick like it had been at the beginning of their date. She looked amazing Hyde thought with a smile.

"Enjoy, and thank you for coming in," the young waitress said as she placed the bill next to Hyde and walked off smiling as she went. -

Having just taken a bite of the delicious dessert Jackie didn't notice Hyde getting up from his seat. She wasn't even aware he was next to her until she looked down and saw him down on one knee holding a black velvet box in his right hand. A gasp escaped her lips and happy tears came to her eyes.

"Jackie Burkhart, will you mary me?"

"Oh yes, Steven, I'll mary you!" Smiling broadly he placed the ring on her left hand. For the first time she noticed that his trademark shades were hooked into his collar and not on his face. She could see the love shining in Steven's eyes that was reserved for her alone. Now it would be hers forever.

Finished!

A/n, short and sweet. R/R!
