Merry Laughter.
"Don't be cliche."
"Ally."
"Austin."
A slow kiss.
He holds her elbows, his voice hoarse.
"Please stay."
She backs away with a fond smile and shake of her head.
"I see what you're trying, Austin, but really, I have to go. You know my father."
sighs.
"Just one more hot chocolate?"
"Austin."
"Half one with me?"
sighs fondly.
"Deal."
...
"Thank you for the hot chocolate, Austin. It was great, but I really need to get going.I love you."
Opens the door slowly, giving a final flutter of the fingers signaling her departure.
"Wait!"
"You'll get pneumonia!"
chuckles, "I hardly believe that, Austin."
"Don't blame me when you cough yourself into a coma."
"Lend me your coat, then?"
"No, I..erm, need my coats!"
'smooth, Austin.'
"Very well then, I'll be on my way."
Catches her elbow gently yet quickly.
"Damn it, Ally. Why do you always have to be so responsible? Just stay with me! I mean good night, there's a bloody blizzard out there and you're worried about your father's petty feelings?"
She giggles, taking his hand in hers.
Presses a gentle kiss to his forehead, tiptoes balanced.
"You're cute when you get upset."
He couldn't fight the smile that tugged at his lips.
'You're supposed to be angry, Austin!' But he didn't want to be, so he wasn't.
"Your hands are ice, Ally. You were only out there for a few seconds and they're ice. You're insane if you think I'm letting you go out in that."
A faux sigh, traced fondness.
"Very well, if you insist. At least I tried."
He shot her a wink, his right arm around her waist bringing her to him snugly as he kissed her forehead. "That's my girl."
Ally winced at the nickname, then chuckled with a shake of the head and tinted cheeks.
...
"Baby?"
This caught her attention.
"Yes?"
"Wanna go ice skating?"
Her jaw had never dropped so far in her life.
