The Stars Above

A Poem

Written by: PSAscience

-A young girl sits on a big grassy hill, somewhere in this world. She chants a poem about the stars above as she looks at the deep dark and blue skies.-

A/N: I originally did not intend this to be written on (I wrote this at school on a piece of paper when I was bored), then I had some sudden inspiration, so I posted it on fanfiction. But I edited a few of the words, because of either they sounded so wrong, or I was getting a bit too cheesy. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it! ;)

As I look at the dark and blue skies,

With clouds seemingly no bigger than my size,

A silvery-yellow moon watches me from overhead,

With two sharp eyes and a bright glow, I said.

The stars above me are twinkling and brightly-shining,

And the wavy constellations are sailing,

The stars are so ancient and old, I know there's something hidden within

I wonder if they'll tell me what they witnessed centuries ago, I think that's what within.

Perhaps they'll talk to me about a past of secrets, silence, and obstacles,

If I could reach them, above this grassy hill of supposed miracles,

But many told me stars never speak until we take our last breath,

But I never really believed them, but I know stars wink before my eyes as I have my death.

One day, I'm sure, the Lord will take me to the stars above,

So I can speak to them, about my life full of grief, sadness, and love,

I'll wait on this big grassy hill until I'll soar like an eagle on a chase,

Away from facing another tragedy, and this war-torn place.

A/N: I know it sounds tragic, and definitely not one of my best poems, but anyway, feel free to flame and hate it (just don't use bad language!) or compliment or suggest something to improve my writing skills. ~+~PSA

P.S.: I got this poem-thing-idea from a-soon-to-be-published story (Alexandra Quick and the Stars Above) on the Harry Potter archive on by one of my favorite authors, Inverarity, (it's the title that inspired me) and another story on the 39 Clues archive on fanfiction, Perhaps, by psychoticbookgirl.
