On those rare sleepless nights, Misaki would inevitably show up at Usagi-san's door. He would quietly slip out of the bed he had been tossing and turning in and softly make his way to the writer's room and reluctantly stand by the open door of the dimly lit room, refusing to look at his lover out of embarassment. Even he found himself to be pathetic, always crawling to Usagi-san whenever he couldn't sleep; it was so childish and humiliating. But Usagi-san never laughed or made of fun of him, he would simply take Misaki's hand in his and lead the boy to his own dark bedroom. The two would make their way around the various toys scattered around on the ground, taking care to avoid the low-hanging model airplanes, and to the bed.
He would never admit it to anyone in a million years but one of Misaki's favorite things to do was lay in Usagi-san's arms and listen to the man whisper fairytales in his ear until he fell asleep. He loved being held against the novelist's broad chest, feeling those arms wrapped tightly around his waist. There was something comforting about those large cold hands slowly stroking his hair as he listened to Usagi-san's husky whisper. It's moments like this when Takahashi Misaki is really and truly 100 percent happy. However, as usual, Akihiko Usami will find a way to mess a good thing up.
"And so, after the handsome prince gave Cinderella her tacky shoe back he rode off into the sunset with her adorable step-brother and they lived happily ever after." Usagi-san concluded.
"Stupid rabbit," Misaki mumbled sleepily into Usagi-san's chest, "that isn't how it goes."
The grey-haired man smiles gently, his nose buried in the boy's soft hair.
"Maybe not, but I like it better that way."
"Idiot…"Misaki murmurs as he begins to drift to sleep.
He had to admit though that while he didn't always get the story right, Usagi-san had a way with words.
A/N: Wow, tiny story is tiny. What is up with me writing all these super short oneshots? Anyways, I hope you enjoyed it despite it's lack of length. Remember to review, I'm interested in what people think of my writing.
