Our old world is hard to find,

I doubt it was ever mine, to keep.

Were you always this unkind?

The house was eerily quiet, the small blonde boy with his body draped across the blandly colored couch. A metal hand was placed against his head, artificial fingers caressing his temples. A door slammed in the background, and he let out a large sigh.

This happened every single day now. It wasn't even over anything important, Edward began to realize. He was an argumentive person, someone that pressed people as far as they would go. Most things he said he didn't mean. It was a habit of his to jump to offense.

Yet, he couldn't gather up the courage to pull himself up one more time to fix things. He grew tired of it, the clenching at his heart every time he saw that look cross his lovers face.

How could he hurt someone he loved so much? Day after day?

Nothing was the same anymore.

We lie belly up in the pool of us

We lie belly up in the pool of us

Was he ever going to come say a damned thing to him? Roy could feel his temper burning in the back of his mind, hands fisting into the sheets of his own bed.

It felt hopeless, like there was nothing left that he could do. Nothing left to save.

Taking in a large breath, the pale man rested himself comfortable into his matress, clingy to his comforter almost childishly. That was the sort of affect Edward had on him, especially when he got like this.

Vulnerability. That was all he felt. There was never a time he would have let anyone push him around like this.

Looking up suddenly, as he heard a familiar creak, his small blonde lover suddenly in the door way, he bit his lip.

"We need to talk."

I don't recognize your doubt,
Please say something, darling shout at me.
How unfair to shut me out.

Edward's golden eyes widened in mild surprise. However, he moved to sit down next to Roy, not even able to look him in the eye. The older man noticed immediately, and felt his heart ache.

"Am I doing something wrong? Are you dissatisfied with me?"

The younger of the two looked over at him immediately, sort of taken back.

"No...No, that isn't it, Roy."

Have I driven us to this?

Our bickering has reached it's limit

I can't remember our last kiss.

Then why? Roy wanted to ask so badly, but bit his tongue. It seemed the other alchemist wasn't done talking yet, opening his mouth to speak once more.

"Some things are unexplainable."

What in that world did he mean by that? The black haired man curled himself up into a tight ball, feeling more vulnerable than usual. There were things he felt that Edward purposely kept from him. He never really was the best at expressing himself.

The blonde boy let out a sigh, drawing his knees up to his chest, matching his lovers childish form now.

"I don't mean to do it. It just happens. It's out of my control."

We lie belly up in the pool of us

We lie belly up in the pool of us

Roy looked away now, though slowly stood up from the bed. Edward looked up at him curiously, simply watching as the older of the two slipped on his military coat.

The door shut moments after, his presence gone completely.

It felt empty. It was empty.

Edward could feel his body become weak, even trembling. Hands covered his face, his breathing becoming uneven.

The only thing to help him remember were the tears falling from his eyes, darkening the material of his superior officer's pillow case.

I must say I'll always love you,

Even if it hurts
