Flashback
This is it.
No matter who said it was impossible, they went on with it.
Human transmutation.
Why? The death of Trisha Elric only happened weeks ago. The Elric brothers were ready.
"Are you ready Alphonse?" said Edward, the eldest brother of the two.
"I… brother, are you sure abou—"
"Stop being stupid, Al. Do this now!"
They placed their palms on the transmutation circle, drawn exactly like in their book. Edward grinned as a bright light came from the array. "It's working, Al!" Al was not listening.
"No it's not brother…"
"What'cha talking bout?"
"…Look."
Edward's grin turned into a gasp. This is not happening. He thought. Then everything turned white; the room, the world, the transmutation circle, his mind.
When he gained his sight and mind again, all that stood before him was the tallest gate an alchemist had ever seen.
"Wha…?" he said in confusion. "What is this? What was I… just doing? Al?"
He was nowhere to be seen.
"Please! Answer me!"
He stuck up a bit of his hair. "Elric telepathy!"
"Shut up, will you?"
Ed turned around. "Who said that?"
"I did."
It was a figure, entirely the color of a shadow. The only thing that wasn't as dark as that was the eye color: red.
He had pointy ears and pretty hair, but Ed could not see most of his face. "When you become 15 years old, it'll strike."
"What are you---"
End of Flashback
When Edward awoke, he found himself in a wooden house.
"Oh, you're up." Said a voice, belonging to a girl.
He jolted up and looked around the room. There was a burning fireplace, a girl maybe a year younger than him sitting beside the bed of which he lay, and a desk, holding many pictures and stacks of paper.
"Where am I?" he asked. "And just who are you?"
The girl sweetly replied, "My name is Malon. I found you in the field last night, I brought you home in a wheelbarrow."
He's short enough to fit. Thought Malon.
Edward stared at her with an annoyed, discomforted look.
"What?"
"You're ears…?" They were pointy, just like that figure's.
She gave a gasp that sounded like a giggle. "These are normal, silly. Where are you from?"
"I'm from a place called Resembool. In fact, I was heading there just a while ago when—HOLY MEATLOAF!"
Malon flinched.
"My arm is normal!" he waved his right arm around.
Malon slumped. "A-durrr. It was like that when I found you."
"Then that must mean-" He froze. With a panicked look upon his face, he scanned the area. "Hmm? What is it?" Malon asked. Ed jumped out of the bed. "Malon," his tone was serious. "Did you happen to find a suit of armor when you found me?"
"No, no I didn't."
"Aggh…"
"But, maybe this boy I know might've taken it for safe-keeping."
"Really? Where is he?"
"In the Hyrule Castle Town. You can find him by---"
"Castle town? Really, I'm lost."
"If I could finish… this boy I know might've seen the armor. He lives in Castle Town with his best friend. If you wanna spot him, look for a man in a green tunic. If you see a swordsman with that type of attire, then that's probably him."
ClickTheMuffin: Oooooh…. Green Tunic? Must be Tingle.
