So a little back story at the the time I wrote this I have completed the entirety of the Naruto manga and currently reading the Boruto continuation. I like the Naruto and Hinata pairing that is canon however I like the idea of a Naruto and Temari pairing much better. This one shot takes place shortly after Sasuke has left the leaf village. This is an alternate universe and my first work I hope you enjoy it.

As the moon rises over Konoha a lone figure stands atop the stone face of the yondaime-hokage quietly staring out over the village. The silence is broken with a whisper into the wind "Sasuke...why did you have to go?" A solemn tear rolls down the face of the young blonde. "Naruto..." the voice startled him, not expecting anyone to be around, he quickly wiped away the tears and put on a smile, years of being tormented by the other villagers has taught him how to hide his feelings. "Temari-chan? What're you doing out..." he started "I came to check on you." She stated before he could finish his question, a hint of empathy in her eyes, "Gaara said you would be out here." She continued. Naruto turned to face the eldest of the sand siblings and gave his signature Fox like grin. "Don't worry about me I'm the future Hokage, believe it." The blonde's words began to falter "why would I possibly be upset, I only lost my closest friend." At this tears began to fall down his face and his upbeat smile was replaced by a solemn frown. Temari wasn't sure what to do at this point, until recently kindness and affection was considered a weakness in her family, although she remembered something from a romance move Kankuro made her watch one time; just thinking about it made her blush, but looking at how pitiful the younger male looked she had to do something. 'Ok here it goes' she thought and with a deep breath she grabbed Naruto by the head and put her lips to his. As if on instinct Naruto wrapped his arms around her waist pulling her closer, after a few seconds the two blonde headed teens pulled apart looking deep into each other's eyes they stood there in each other's arms. The young male was the first to speak "T-Temari chan..." he started, his cheeks a deep crimson, "why did you..." he tried again "kiss you?" She said blushing a deep red. "I don't know it just seemed like the right thing to do." She continued as she started to pull away "if you didn't like it all you had to do was say so" she said turning away. "No" he said spinning her back around and planted a kiss on her lips. "I was good." He said grinning from ear to ear. "Good" she replied.
