It wasn't a regular day in Happy Harbor. The triplets (Jesse, James and Joshua) had come speeding into MT. Justice with a huge, square, machine. It was hard to describe with words. They had set it down in the laboratory and then full of excitement, had the rest of us come get up from our lazy sunday break to explain it. We had stood watching them get ready, Jesse had been on her phone leaving the presentation to her brothers.
"Alright, what do you think this is?" Joshua asked gesturing to the device.
"A machine?" Emma questioned. She wasn't happy to have to put up with them as she was getting caught up on her reading before this.
"Yes, but... that's not what... never mind" Joshua said pushing it aside. He smiled again "we found a state of the art zeta beam! Just sitting in the scrap yard!"
"Whats a zeta beam?" Casey asked. I wasn't surprised he didn't know, he was the youngest of us.
"A zeta beam is like the prototype version of the transporters we use, our parents used them and there was one in MT Justice, but then it got an upgrade" Nathan was quick to explain but went off point a little. Casey nodded and Nathan sighed crossing his arms "why do we care?"
"well... after a long time thinking of what to do with it, we decided that since the Watch Tower has one we could-" James cut off Joshua with his excitement.
"We're gonna fix it up so we have secret access to the Watch Tower!" he announced. I rolled my eyes a little annoyed.
"You three have fun with that then" I said. I had walked away with the others following after me.
After weeks of working on operation 'Zeta Beam Reboot', crime fighting, and sneaking into the Watch Tower the three had completed the task. They were making us test it with them as a 'team thing', we knew that they just didn't want to be caught sneaking into the Watch Tower alone. We had gone through easy and on first glance the Watch Tower was the same. We're in the front room and it was lit up bright and we could see the earth out of large windows. It was cool until Superman, Martian Manhunter and Black Canary had walked in and seen us. It was alarming because Black Canary was retired and so was Superman. We had panicked and after a little while they had captured us putting us into an investigation room cuffed with inhibitor collars. We were all panicked.
"You three have some explaining to do!" Emma demanded answers.
"What the hell is going on?!" Casey was scared.
"We don't know!" Jesse claimed. She was trying to get the collar off "we're as lost as you are!"
"Well... its the same Watch Tower but... what if it's not our time?" Joshua asked. James and Jesse got intrigued by his way of thinking.
"Like as if we time traveled?" Jesse questioned.
"Like as if we made the worlds first time machine?!" James was getting pumped up. At this point they were talking to each other rather then explaining.
It got quiet when the door opened. We were faced with the retired Batman, mine and Casey's grandfather to be exact. He had a dark look and it scared us. He walked in closing the door behind him and stood in front of us as we were all sat on the floor.
"Let's started out easy, who are you?" he growled. His voice sounded angry.
