Kume's version of Fruits Basket
Disclaimer: I do not own Fruits Basket, but I do own Kume. Bio: Kume (Kurenasu) has black hair and brown eyes. And she looks a lot like Hitori but the long bangs are on the opposite side of her face. (I don't know if the donkey is in the Chinese zodiac but I don't care) she is the donkey in the zodiac and if someone calls her jackass, then she gets really mad.
CHAPTER 1
"Ok class, before we begin our lesson, I would like to introduce a new student...." Says the teacher finally getting the class' attention. "This is Kurenasu Soma."
Yuki, Kyo, and Tohru all look up and see another member of the Soma family walk through the door.
Later that afternoon
Shigure is on the phone talking to someone and the others, including Hitori, are talking at the table.
"So, is Kurenasu a member of the Soma family?" asks Tohru.
Hitori looks up and answers, "Not exactly..."
"What do you mean?" Tohru asked.
"A long time ago," Hitori explained, "a boy did some things that made Akito furious. So Akito beat him. Kume, who liked the boy, was watching and then jumped in and explained to Akito that the fault was her own and not the boys'. But by that time, Akito had grown tired of lashing his whip, so he banished her from the Soma estate and cursed at her as she walked out of the grounds. The last thing that Akito had said to her was that if she was ever to return, that he would kill her. The boy never saw her again." Hitori looked down at his tea and then back up at the others.
Tohru seemed saddened by the story but not enough to ask another question: "Who was the boy?"
Instead of answering, Hitori got up and stepped outside, closing the door behind him.
"Was it something I said??? If it was, I didn't mean to upset him!!!!! Oh, I shouldn't have asked that many questions!" said Tohru shaking her head.
"It wasn't your fault Ms. Honda..." said Yuki.
"The reason why he left is because of the last question you asked him." Kyo said.
"The last question you asked him was somehow related to himself." Interrupted Shigure as he walked into the room and sat down. "The boy in the story was in fact Hitori. That is why he left the room."
"So you're telling me that Kume likes Hitori?" asked Tohru.
"Yes," answered Shigure, "and I just got off the phone with Kume and I'm supposed to go meet with her; but I'm actually thinking of telling Hitori to go in my stead."
Somewhere near Yuki's garden
Hitori was standing up against a tree, waiting impatiently for Kume to arrive. I wonder what she looks like now that she's all grown. He thought to himself. does she still like me or does she want to tell me otherwise? These thoughts kept running through his head. Over and over he pictured the day when she left the Soma estate; but he had grown tired of waiting so he started to walk back to the house.
"I figured Shigure would ask you to come."
Hitori spun around to see Kume standing where he was with her arms folded. She had a look of comfort she had longed for on her face. But Hitori was speechless; he couldn't find any words to greet her...he just stared.
