Unwanted Trouble for Kazuma

This turn of events is not what Kazuma needed. He had to keep his head clear, free of distractions. His punching and kicking of a boxing bag slowed. So far, that plan was a failure. His mind kept going back to the pretty face of a certain woman.

A certain Mimori Kiryuu.

He keeps going back to her chocolate locks, her perky nose, graceful figure, her beautiful eyes. He loved her eyes, how they showed how much she cared. He remembered the concern they had shown when Kazuma had brought Kanami to her. He had been a bit unfocused, but he remembered her eyes. He longed for her eyes to gaze upon him, but he knew she was interested in no one but Ryuhou.

Damn lucky bastard. Doesn't realize what he has right in front of his nose.

Kazuma scowled thinking of his rival. If only Kazuma had had her at his side, he might settle down a little. Kanami would love to have another woman to have around when Kazuma was gone. Though he'd probably be back more often if Mimori was around. She knew she was always welcome here, especially by Kanami. She and Kazuma had grown closer over time, becoming good friends, but she would always stick with Ryuhou. He knew in the back of his mind that one of the reasons he fought Ryuhou, was because he knew she'd be right behind him, silently cheering him on, watching his back. Mimori cared for him, like a best friend would, and she openly expressed her concern for him, but whenever it came down to Ryuhou and Kazuma's rivalry, she went with Ryuhou.

If only she'd care for me instead of that bastard... I can actually return any love she might offer.

Kazuma couldn't believe he was actually jealous of Ryuhou, wishing to be him. If Kazuma did anything to show her his feelings, Ryuhou would defintitely say something about it. Better to avoid that, knowing Kazuma would break and tell everything about how he feels. Kazuma would have to play the protective brother.

He can be as close to her as he wants. Grrr. But if this what I need to do to stay by her side, then I will be her friend.

Kazuma would have to be content with the fact that he and Mimori would stay friends. Though he'd protect her with his life, without hesitation, if needed from him. He would do anything that she asked, if only to see her eyes light up with a sparkle.

"Because you have become my number one, Mimori Kiryuu."

Yes, falling in love with Mimori Kiryuu is exactly what he doesn't need.
