Tsuna runs through the halls of Namimori Junior High School breathing heavily as he stops to change directions. The school deceives him in the moonlight.

'He's going to catch me! Where can I go?' Tsuna asks himself.

He could only think of one place, the reception room. It's the best protected room in the school thanks to Hibari and Tsuna had the feeling he would be safe if he made it there. Behind him a dark shadow appears, coming around the corner.

He has to act quickly. He takes off running toward the reception room, not sparing a glance behind him. The door to the reception room appears ahead. Running forward, he's almost to the door when a gunshot is heard. Everything stops. Pain shoots through Tsuna's leg as he falls to the ground one foot from the door. He turns his head to see the shadow. It is a tall man with broad shoulders. The man moves closer with his gun aimed at Tsuna. Tsuna tries to push himself up attempting to reach the handle.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you, Tsunayoshi Sawada." The man says.

Tsuna freezes. He watches as the man slowly approaches, the shadows still obscuring his face. Tsuna glances at the door knob.

'My hand won't reach. I just need a good push and I'll be safe enough to call for help.'

Tsuna lunges forward and yells, "I'm not you!" He grabs the knob and turns it but the man is quicker. He fires the gun and a bullet grazes Tsuna's arm just as he pushes the door open.

The man laughs moving forward, "I told you that wouldn't be a good idea."

Tsuna continues on, ignoring the man. The man moves forward to finish his job. Tsuna looks desperately in the room and begins to smile.

A voice from the room startles the shadowed man, "You are right, that wasn't a good idea. Now I'm going to bite you to death."

Some span of time prior to the event

"Tsuna it's time to wake up," his mother calls from the kitchen.

Tsuna rolled out of bed quickly, prepared to dodge any sort of blow from the crazy arcobaleno, Reborn. However, Reborn was nowhere to be seen as Tsuna readied himself for the day. After completing his morning routine he walked down the stairs to eat breakfast but as he arrived, he noticed something unusual; his food was untouched.

"Hey mom, where are Reborn and the others?" Tsuna asks.

"You don't remember?" She responded as she washed the dishes, "Reborn, Fuuta and Lambo returned to Italy to see their families and I-pin went to back to China to visit hers."

"Oh," Tsuna said, lonely from the lack of animation contributed by the children, but he turned away from his mom and finished his breakfast quietly. After breakfast, he made his way out the door. Upon his exit, he heard his two best friends fighting, as usual.

"Get away from me you sword freak!" said Gokudera angrily.

"Gokudera," Yamamoto murmured softly, as he moved closer to Gokudera and placed his hands on Gokudera's shoulders. "I'm sorry but I'm not going to apologize for what I did. What else would you have me do?"

"Hey guys!" Tsuna said loudly not wanting to eavesdrop on anymore of their conversation. Gokudera jumped away from Yamamoto as if burned.

"Good morning Juudaime," He called out, visibly shaken by the previous conversation.

"Good morning Tsuna," Yamamoto sighed "We should go or we'll be late."

"Ok" Tsuna says and they headed off in the direction of the school.

Hi everyone, this is not only my first Reborn fanfiction but my first story that I've put online. Please feel free to leave comments and criticisms. I would enjoy hearing back from everyone who reads. Oh, and as a side note I don't know how often I'll update but I'll try to do so as soon as I finish the next chapter. I am a college student so I don't know how often I'll get a chance to write but I will try.
