*Chapter One – Jez, Mori, and Strider*

Thunder streaked across the darkened sky as two girls and a boy made their way up towards the doors of Degrassi Community High School. One of the girls, the leader, flipped her black hair from her pale face, gazing up at the school's windows. People had stopped and began to stare despite the rushing to get inside. Principal Sheppard stepped outside and stared at the trio.

"Welcome to Degrassi. You must be the Tromp girls and you must be…" he trailed off while taking in the sight of Strider with his arm looped around Morigan. Jezabel let out a dark sigh and watched the principal before parting her black painted lips to speak.

"Yes, dork. We're the Tromp Sisters. I'm Jezabel and that's Morigan. The boy is Strider, he's with Mori. Are you gonna let us in or what?" She leveled her eyes with the older man and smiled, students around them gasping. Sheppard blinked and looked at her before shrugging and signaling for them to follow. Spinner slipped out into the dark day, his arm around Jane, to watch the new kids enter the school.

Whispers traveled around the school and by lunch, everybody knew about the Creepy Trio. Jezabel stepped into the crowded room and moved into the line, Morigan and Strider closing in behind her.

"Scope out any potential guys yet, Jez?"

"Would I tell you, Mori?" Jezabel sighed and looked around the cafeteria. Her eyes scanned possible candidates for her boyfriend but she didn't want to be picky. She sighed again and let her eyes wander. She never liked the first day of school and this wasn't any different. A shiver ran down her spine as she watched the friends eat together happily. Her friends were her sister and her sister's boyfriend. That was it. Mori and Jez's parents had died when they were younger, having been raised by their Pagan grandmother for fifteen years before coming to Degrassi. They're grandmother had taught them everything that they knew, Pagan and non-Pagan before they came to this school.

"Hi. I'm Johnny." A blonde haired senior moved up beside her, a small Indian girl at his side.

"Jezabel Darkspire." She murmured shyly. Curse my shyness! Curse it to hell and back! Her thoughts screamed at her as her eyes met Johnny's again. He had tilted his head and narrowed his eyes.

"I thought your last name was Tromp."

"Yeah. Well, I don't like it. My sister and my last name is Darkspire from now on. And Strider's is Watercove." She nodded and turned to the scowling girl. "Look, do you have a problem with me talkin' to your man here?"

Alli's chest puffed out as if she was going to punch Jezabel but Johnny grabbed her arm, shot Jez an apologetic look and walked off, the smaller girl in tow. "I think you've got an admirer." Jezabel jumped as Strider's husky voice cut into her thoughts. She turned her head to glare at him. This day had gotten off so well, and now she was going to have to fight for attention.
