A/N: Right, so this is a one off pointless song change to Clex because, if you're like me, you sit there listening to music and the words just change in your head and come out of your fingers. I wrote this when I was supposed to be writing a song for my Smallville Musical (which should be coming soon); it doesn't fit into that narrative though so here it randomly is. Call it a prequel, if you will, starting from The Look in the Pilot, which Clex fans know and love. –grin-

There
was a boy, with lips like a girl
Could Lex make it any more obvious?
Oogling Clark, from where he lay
So blatantly gay
He turned away, so Lex couldn't tell
Secretly Clark wanted him as well
Blush on his cheeks, like a pink rose
This morning he thought he'd worn baggy clothes
He was a pretty boy
Became good friends with the boy
But he wasn't old enough for Lex
He had a pretty face
But age was a legal case
Lex quickly came back down to Earth...
Five years from now
He sits at home
Running his company, on his own
He turns on tv
Guess who he sees?
Pretty boy talking on news tv
Calls a conference
Hopes Clark will know
Waits for the media dogs to show
Clark comes along, stands in the crowd
Looks up at the man as he comes out...
He's still a pretty boy
And now he's a legal boy
Things are looking all good from here
Lex is coporate star
Hated by those afar
But Clark's pretty face sees what he's worth...
Sorry Lois you missed out
Well tough luck that boy's mine now
We're no longer just old friends
Stick that in your story then!

See that man that Lex could be

Clark sees the soul that is inside

The news travelled right across the world
