Forgive me If I get any of the character's voices off a bit. This is my first time writing a Power Rangers fic haven't seen the show in a long time and but with the recent Shattered Grid Live Action Trailer release I remembered this plot bunny I had when I was younger and decided to go for it.

I had awoken in a barren wasteland devoid of any color but black and gray sand. I could just sense the hairs on my head stand on end with frost. The only thing of fortune I got was that the darkness of the night was passing as I could see a light in the not too far out distance.

So I walked towards this light, hoping that once I could see the sun I would be able to follow in risen direction to civilization, this seemed like a good plan at the time. And it's not like it didn't work, so it was a good plan, it's just that I didn't like the civilization that I eventually found.

So I walked forward my feet bumping off the rocky environment every few steps as I could a better notice of my environment as the light slowly permeated my sight. Finally, I took notice of just how suspiciously familiar the gray sand really was, I knew that I have never seen and this color in person before but this particular shade was so eerily. I could feel my spine shiver.

My excitement rose tremendously as a nearby hill glowed in the amazing blue light. I had found it. Civilization. Other people. Shelter. I was saved, saved from the cold, saved from the eventual starvation that comes from wandering around the wasteland brings.

Positivity only rose to even higher heights as I begin to sprint up the hill as fast as my legs could gyrate. Several times I tripped failing a little back down the hill until finally decided to like a lion in the plains of Africa run up on all fours. Then I was there, atop the hill and I could only feel a single emotion. Other terror.

For it was not a man-made source of light but one of the most natural forms of light in the solar system, the reflected sunlight from the Earth itself. I fell to my knees in shock, unable understand the sheer impossibility of the situation, it overwhelmed me to the point of near panic attack.

After gasping on the ground for a few moments I eventually decided get a hold of myself and take a measure of my surroundings. The reflected light of the sun had finally illuminated the area so that I could now see the desolated wastes that surrounds me, to the left of me was grey sand, to the right even more grey sand and in front of me was something utterly amazing. A large palace with several large towers, the centermost being the largest. On top the center tower was a sphere the Daily Globe would be jealous of, it had two massive rings spinning about it.

It was this mysterious palace that put a startling realization into my head, you couldn't breathe on the moon.

I decided that it was time for me to look down on myself to see if that gave me an idea of how I could survive in such an environment, only to find another horrific discovery the light had revealed. My body had become gray with black stripes running diagonally across my body and curving about. My hand had become some kind of hard granite like but still retained its movability.

I tried to speak but all that would come out were strings of garbled noises, not unlike the sounds of trying to speak while underwater. I began to panic.I didn't understand how I got here or especially how became this creature.

What I last remembered I was in the….

I was …

Where am…..

Who am I…?

The lumps of stone that were my hands went over my waist and found a belt. Searching for anything to take my mind off the existential crisis I began having, I desperate stared at the odd belt.

What I found to be an oddity was that I had a belt at all, I didn't have any pants. The belt's buckle really drew my attention to it, it was just a round stone with a green gem in the middle surrounded by five other gems. Black, red, blue, yellow and pink in that order, left to right.

The buckle reminded me of something, I started so flashes before my eyes, I could see myself(?) in a green suit, white gloves, boots and golden armor that covered my chest and my shoulder. I was fighting some sort of American Football themed bipedal rhino monster and trying to rescue five other colored people from its dimensional trap.

Yes. That's right the other colored people where my friends, we were a team. We are a team, the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Defenders of Earth. I was the Green Ranger. The newest member of the team. The Sixth Ranger. Wait there was already a Green Ranger, was I a second Green Ranger?.

But wait I thought emptily what was I doing here on the moon when I should be down there n earth. I searched my mind for answers hoping that another epiphany would happen. Thoughts filled my head of bowing to a witch like a silhouette while other voices yelled out "Hail Empress Rita" several times.

That's right I thought I started out working for Rita Repulsa. The Empress of Evil before somehow switching sides. I don't remember why I did that, but I must've had a good reason. Like maybe she was underpaying me.

"Okay then I have an idea about who am I now," I said out loud, the sounds coming out again like I was being downed "I just need a reason for being on the moon".

I went and took a deeper look at the palace in the distance and noticed all the gray people like myself. I came to the only conclusion I could in this situation. Maybe I was here to spy on my former master.

The thought that I can't do much spying with amnesia though filled my head so the only thing could do was to make my back to where ever Power Ranger HQ is. Thankfully that last memory dump I just went through included how we teleported all over the place. With my best effort, I put one hand on my Morpher and held it out in front of me and yelled in the best drowning speech I could do..

"It's Morphin Time"

"DragonZord"

I quickly swept up in green fire and streaked to the Earth above, aiming straight to my destiny. As a Ranger.

The city of Angel Grove had entered a small lull of peace. The fight between Good and Evil was in a state of announced ceasefire as Rita Repulsa's forces recovered from their most recent bout against the Rangers. Some kind of Oster Monster.

The Rangers themselves were enjoying themselves inside the youth center, some like Billy and Trini were drinking some of Ernie's famous smoothies, Kimberly was working on her gymnastic routine once again, while the last three of the super team, Tommy, Jason, and Zack were all training their martial arts together. Trading tips and fighting techniques with each other.

The six's peace was sadly interrupted by telltale sound of their communicators beeping off. The mighty team leaped into action, assembling in the luckily empty hallway of the youth center.

"Rangers" The epic deep voice of the Rangers' mentor Zordon, the Wizard of Eltar rang from their wrist-mounted communicators "I have urgent news, come to the Command Center quickly"

"We're on our way Zordon" Jason replied as he and the others all pushed a button on the side of the communicator, this enveloped each Ranger in their own colors and shot them into the sky.

The six lights flew across the sky making the onlookers below believe that they were some sort of bizarre rainbow unique to Angel Grove.

When the Rangers arrived at the Command Center Alpha Five was in full panic mode "Ai-yi-yi-yi-yi!"ing on spot by the control units to the left.

"Zordon what's the going on" Tommy, the Green Ranger asked in worry that the other Rangers mirrored with their expressions.

Thankfully for the Rangers, Zordon swiftly went into action explaining the situation to them in clear concise words.

"Rangers behold the Viewing Globe"

Or telling the Rangers to watch the T.V instead because that's much easier. On said globe, there was an unmistaken figure of the Green Power Ranger. He was justing standing outside the Command Center waving his arms as if trying to grab their attention. The Rangers who were not Tommy quickly looked at their friend and then back to figure on the screen.

"Guys I'm not in two places at once" Tommy sulked at others playfully funny looks.

"Of course not Tommy" Zordon intoned from behind them floating his tube "It appears to be the sole survivor of Rita's Mutant Rangers"

"Well," Billy started while looking over some of the readings from on the Mutant that control units laid about the Command Center had gathered "Do we know what it wants"

"No Billy, sadly we have no means of communicating with him without bringing him inside the Command Center"

"And that's a terrible idea," Jason said crossing his arms.

"Rangers" Zordon proclaimed "I leave this matter to you to deal with"

Jason stared at the figure on the globe his eyes inspecting the Mutant Ranger for some sort of clue as the others talked quietly with each other. He took note of the near childlike wave the errant green ranger had, the way its left foot tapped and bounced with nervous energy. Eventually, Jason came to a silent decision he knew how he would handle this.

"Okay guys" Jason spoke up "We're teleporting out there but we're not morphing until it makes an aggressive move"

"What!" Zack yelped in surprise voicing the unsaid thoughts of the others "What's that about man"

"Look!" Jason pointed the globe "It hasn't done anything but wave happily right?" He asked Zordon, to which the wizard nodded "Good, then we have to follow the rules, we must never escalate the conflict"

Jason's explanation calmed down the others though you could see that it didn't sit well with either Zack, Trini, and Billy. They couldn't help wonder how attacking an enemy force invading their land counted as escalation, but Jason was the leader so they went along with it. For now.

Jason then looked to Alpha-5 who as if sensing what he was going to say started to press a few buttons.

"May the Power protect you" Alpha-5 solemnly told them teleporting them in their respective colors.

Simultaneously the area around the mutant flashed in a wide array of brightly colored lights signaling to him that the other rangers had arrived. They surrounded him in a circle, each ranger taking a defensive stance, Jason stood the closet reading himself for combat at the first sign of aggression.

"All right you walking play-doh" Zack proclaimed pointing his finger straight at the mutant green ranger "What's scheme this week"

"Ahhh!" the Mutant nervously exclaimed

The mutant's voice gave the Rangers a massive shock as it did not sound as they expected, like Tommy but instead it had an almost robot-like quality, mixed with a kind of underwater effect. The Mutant nervously shuffled about in the limited amount of space that the ranger had given him.

"Speak!" Jason has had enough of this creature's delaying.

The mutant took a look around at the other rangers, as his visored head quickly scanning over them. Until it came upon Tommy then a visible shudder with through his body.

"Ahh," The green ranger mumbled, "Okay I...a you guys know me right?"

The team of power rangers looked back and forth from each other in confusion only to eventually nod to one another in unspoken agreement.

"Yes, we are aware of what you are" Billy spoke pushing his glasses up onto his nose.

"Great," Greenie's hand clapped and then they were raised "So…."

"So…" Tommy mirrored

"Who am I"

The Power Rangers once again looked to themselves in disbelief as if they couldn't that Rita try and pull off such an obvious trick like this, well all the Rangers except Tommy and Jason. The Red and Green looked less like they didn't believe him but more like wanted to believe.

"Are we friends?" The Mutant Ranger inquired "because I remember fighting and you guys were there, we were fighting against some kind of lobster monster?" he rambled with a noticeable electronic whine in his voice.

The team had gone from suspicion to silent confusion, all hearing the pleading in the creature's voice, some even believing it.

Tommy stepped forward out of the circle towards his fellow green ranger, slapping the other's shoulder and grasp in silent confirmation.

"Don't worry, man?," He told the nervous greenie "We'll get you all help you need"

Meanwhile in Rita Repulsa's Luna Palace

With what could only be described as frantic strout a golden armored figure arrived in the magnificently terrifying laboratory of Finister, the most famous monster maker of the entire universe, a being applauded for keen innovation in this area.

"Finister!," The armored being yelled "There has been a unknown energy reading within a defense perimeter"

The lab stood silent as if there wasn't anyone home, the golden one roared swinging his arm across various counters, smashing their contents about and leaving them thrown on the floor.

"Finster!," He shouted again "Finster, where are you"

"Yes, Goldar I'm coming " A kind mild voice exclaimed, "I was just looking through the data the equipment registered on that energy reading "

"And have the Rangers decided to infiltrate our palace in a poor attempt to strike us while scarce of resources thanks to our last attack" The recently revealed to be Goldar asked

"No" Finster pushed up his glasses further up his nose. "The signature isn't a match for Zordon's particular teleportation technology"

Goldar huffed his arms out in wide circle motion "I checked at the data myself, it looked like the Green Ranger"

"A green ranger" Finster corrected

Goldar stared at Finster with a growing impression of pure horror as if Finster had told him that devil himself had arrived on Luna.

"You can't mean him…."

"No, no" Finster shook his head displaying disbelief "Goodness no"

"Praise the Empress" The armored ape proclaimed, seemly relieved at the knowledge that whoever they were talking about wasn't here.

"But" The monster creator begin to add "It is a signature you'd introduced to before"

"What I've met not but two green rangers in my life!"

Finster sighed "Such limited thinking is what keeps us losing to the rangers"

"What are you blabbering on about you old goat"

"Your forgetting the team you trained personally" Finster tutted.

Then silence permeated the air as Goldar took several seconds to understand what he was being told. His face crunched in concentration as trying to recall his last meal.

"The Mutant Rangers!" He roared, his wings extending from their place on his back "The green one survived, interesting,". A Finger scratching his chin "are you sure of this?"

Finster nodded as he took a seat on a nearby stool with a sigh. Goldar started to pace back and forth in the lab further smashing Finster's tools he had impatiently thrown on the floor.

"This is good" The winged primate mumbled "He is a ranger grade fighter after all" He stroked his chin thought "with him on our side we stand a much better chance of destroying those power punks"

Yes, he could see it. In Goldar's eyes, the reason the Mutant Rangers failed wasn't power but experience. If it wasn't for how he was forced to train newby puttys instead of what he wanted, which was to train the survivors from previous fights with the Rangers, they might have even won. Puttys that have experience in combat with the Rangers would have anticipated any of the Rangers next moves much better than puttys that he'd given just a few hours to train.

When suddenly Finster violently flinched while reading the sheet that had the previously mentioned data it brought back Goldar's attention to him.

"What is now Finster!"

"Well " he stumbled out "It appears that he isn't here anymore"

Goldar stared at him, his brow twitched and his hands shook before threw his hands out into the air once again all the while extended his wings.

"WHAAAAT!"

The Palace shook and trembled dust and debris fail from ceilings throughout the building. Unfortunately for Goldar, all this ruckus awoke the one person he didn't want to wake. The Empress of Evil. Rita Repulsa

"GOOLLDARRR!"

"Oh no"

Out in the hall, the sounds of a ruffling dress moving down it could be heard. A scepter screeched across the floor as the door to the lab opened once more. From there the familiar horned form of their leader, the Empress of Evil, Rita Repulsa. She strode into the centre of the room rolling her shoulders and glaring into the eyes of the seven in a half foot tall primate who did nothing whimper pitifully at the petite sorcerer.

"Well," She said impatiently "What is so important that you needed to interrupt my very important call to the members of the Alliance"

"Oh this is bad," Goldar thought fearfully. He'd had ruined a United Alliance meeting. Rita had been sealed away by Zordon ten thousand years ago, this would have been her first interaction with the other Alliance leaders since then. She would have to appear strong if she didn't want to have what little territories she had left conquered by one of the others. Like the up in-comer Divatox or someone much worse like Lord Zedd. And Goldar had screwed it up.

"Finster" The primate barked hoping to shaft the blame to the monster creator. "Inform our Empress what has happened with your creation"

Finster was much calmer than Goldar as he had nothing to worry about. He then went on to explain the current situation to Rita stroking his goatee in some sort of gentleman like manner.

The Empress raised an eyebrow at the knowledge, then nodded simply. She slowing walked out of the lab into the main balcony area of the palace. There sit her magic telescope that she used to spy on he enemies on Earth. She looked into it and found what she was searching for. The green Mutant Ranger.

Oh, how intriguing this all seemed to the witch. Her little home grown ranger had gone off to be gently comforted by the her last personal ranger. What a quaint scene. She wondered what brought this about. She wondered how she was going to take advantage this situation.

Command Center

(Earth)

"I'm glad that you understand that due to your condition certain safety measures have to be taken" The giant floating head intoned with an epic but gentle voice.

The Mutant could do nothing but nod in awe at the divine presence the disembodied head exhumed.

It was explained to the greenie that due to prior mind control/brainwashing plots that Rita had done in past that it would safer for everyone if he was restrained inside a energy barrier while they examined him.

It had seemed reasonable to dark gloved ranger so he went along the demands of the other Rangers.

"So" The garbled voice of the mutant let out "What's the verdict doc" He pointed Billy who examined data at the one of the Command Center's computer monitor.

"Well" The Blue Ranger pushed his glasses up nose "This may take a bit of time" He took his glasses off giving them a wipe "Especially since we've never dissected your powers before"

"What does that have to do with anything?" the imprisoned ranger asked scratching his helmeted head.

"It means that we don't have any idea what you readings should be normally," Trini told him.

"And that means" Billy continued "that we have no idea what's the difference between you before and you now"

"Hey look" Tommy came out with a look of understanding "I know what you're going through so don't worry these guys helped me they can help you"

In one of the corners of the room, away from the ears of the others, except for Zordon who would everything, Zack, Jason and Kimberly were in a deep talk.

"Look man" Zack exclaimed in a quiet distress "I just think it was a mistake" He pointed the imprisoned green ranger "We should blast him and be done with it" He crossed arms over his chest "This is obviously just a trick by Rita"

"Zack" Kimberly started "I'm not saying we should trust him…"

"It" Zack corrected "It is not a man, it is a walking clay figure"

Kim didn't seem to like the choice of language and responded.

"Zack, we can't just see a person in distress and not help them"

"It is not a person Kim, it's just a piece of clay Rita wants to think is alive" Zack once again pointed at the target of his aggression. "What next are the rest of the putty patrol alive too, are we to spare them next when they come gunning for blood"

"Zack," She took a heavy breath. "I get what you're saying. but I don't to be the kind of person who can turn away someone who needs our help" She shook her head, her hair going side to side.

Through all of this Jason stood there in silence in both sides of the argument. He could understand where they were coming from. Zack was right they couldn't afford to let the world be conquered because they were too soft with Rita's clay men.

But at the same time, Kim was just as right. It wouldn't matter if they defeated Rita only to change who they are fundamentally. Becoming cold people who never help those in need just because they could turn around to betray them.

"Zack, Kim" Jason said gaining their attention "You both made good points" He pointed to Zack "You're right we can't afford go soft on Rita's monster, the whole world counts on us" Then Jason put his hand on Kim's shoulder "But I'm with Kim on this"

"What," Zack asked in disbelief.

"I don't want to win this war, only to find myself a person who is too cold to give people a chance when they need it" Jason put his other hand on Zacks shoulder "I'm sorry Zack but this is how I've decided to handle this"

Zack couldn't couldn't believe this. He shook his head vigorously and stalked back the others examining the green Mutant Ranger. He only hoped that this decision didn't end with people being hurt.

"But there's something else" Kim interceded drawing the two's attention before they could reach the others "guys do see how Tommy's acting" They looked over at the clearly concerned teen "We'd talked for a bit and he thinks…."

"He thinks what Kim" Jason questioned softly.

"He thinks that he could have been human before"

"That's messed up man" Zack brought his hand to face, squeezed the bridge of his nose and sighed. He swung his arm about and moved forward back to the others looking over the Mutant's data. Kim followed him soon after, leaving Jason by himself staring solemnly at the imprisoned ranger.

Jason strode forward to the mutant ranger, putting on a small smile on his face and clapping his hands to grab his attention.

"Hi man, how are you feeling"

"I'm doing okay I'm just a bit….nervous"

Jason nodded at this.

"Oh, a…" The green ranger mumbled "You never…."

"What" Jason scratched his head "We never what"

"You never told me my name"

There was then a silence. None of the teens spoke, there was nothing for them to say. As far as most of them were aware of, he had no name. He was a putty.

"You never told us," Tommy attempted an explanation. "You were always a mysterious figure coming and going when we needed you"

"Oh, I never introduced myself" The Mutant scratched his arm "That's just silly"

Tommy chuckled politely "You said it buddy not me"

"How about Green for now" Kim shuffled her arms and raised her eyebrow in suggestion "Just to call you while we work on getting your memory back" She looked to the ground in thought.

"Green" He tested the name on his figurative lips "I like it"

The tension that had previously hung in the room disapparated. Leaving a growing sense of ease in its place. Sadly this ease was not to last. The alarms in the Command Center blared, it's sound indicating a emergence of Rita's forces on Earth.

"I'm sorry" Jason turned to green imprisoned ranger "We have to deal with this"

"Oh" The mutant started sentences with that a lot Jason idly noticed "Well then I'll go with you guys help out"

Jason looked at the mutant ranger a hint a suspicion. He did want to trust the amnesiatic ranger, but this may a step too far too soon. Fortunately for the leader of the Power Ranger Zordon interceded.

"It is much too dangerous for you to be out in the field," Zordon told the mutant with what the rangers thought was concern. "We still don't know what is wrong with you, your condition coupled with this monster attack could be apart a wider scheme by Rita"

The recently named Green could do nought but nod at the logic of the Zordon.

"But" Zordon bubbled in his floaty head glory "If the Rangers have need of your assistance I will send there immediately"

This was all the Rangers needed to know as they lined themselves up in line behind Jason and morphed.

"It's MORPHIN TIME"

"DRAGONZORD"

"TRICERATOPS"

"SABERTOOTH-TIGER"

"MASTODON"

"PTERODACTYL"

"TYRANNOSAURUS"

And so the Rangers teleported into action in all their rainbow-like glory. Racing against a metaphorical clock to stop Rita's plot of the week to take over the world. But will they be able to defeat Rita's latest monster the Birdcage Vagabond.

I can go a lot a ways with "Green's" character. I have some later plot ideas that I am going to write towards but I am willing to abandon those if the story's flows breaks away from them naturally in the course of writing this.

My plans loosely go up all the way to In Space and then a unnamed Disney season, the Zeo seasons and the Turbo season I have the least planned for, which I mean they are properly going to be the shortest.

I have plans to develop all the characters, except Squat and Baboo. I know that that in this chapter we got very little from the rangers, but the next chapter will mainly deal with Trini, Billy and Zack point of view and I hope to keep rotating it chapter to chapter.

One thing I'm going to try and is how the United Alliance Of Evil works. I mean the Machine Empire leaves the Alliance in the begin of Zeo and attacks Lord Zed but by the time of In Space they had rejoined them? What how did that work.

Another thing I will go into is just how alive the monsters and Mooks are in Power Rangers, because in the it seemed to vary but

But please be honest, what do you like about this so far. What future developments are you most interested in. Who's POV would you like to see in future chapters.
