Alexa was sick and tired of being bossed around by her step-father. Being sick and tired pushed you over the edge sometimes. For Alexa Greaten going over the edge meant ditching the house and all the repulsive arguments inside to trade it for the towering city buildings and the mix of conversation's buzz. Upon exiting her trouble filled home the sky was a gorgeous shade of light blue without a cloud in the sky, perfect. And now? Dark, threatening puffs loomed over the busy city. That's definitely London weather for you.

Letting out an irritated exhale followed by a groan she shoved her thin, pale hands into her jacket pockets. As if the weather sensed her gloomy mood, heavy drops of water began thundering down. "Blimey," She hissed, glaring at the stormy clouds. Forcing her hands out of their warm cavern, Alexa reached up to move her faux leather hood over her damp red hair. Realization had set in that she no longer could stand the chill of the drops on her back. She made a run for the nearest coffee shop, her hood dropping in the process, causing her to get even more soaked. Frustrated, Alexa pushed the door handle roughly to allow her entrance. Nearly everyone's head turned to see who was behind the abrupt entry. The day's events turning her mood sour she scowled at the attention, making her way over to the brick counter top. "One peppermint coffee with extra cream." Alexa ordered, her mind temporarily forgetting why she was out in the city to begin with and reminiscing through memories of when her dad used to take her out for peppermint hot chocolate on stormy days. If only her dad were here..

And just like that, in a matter of seconds, her former mood returned. A loud clearing of throat from the cashier brought Alexa back into real time. "Sorry." She said stiffly, pulling out roughly three euros. The blonde standing across from her took the waded up bills, giving the untidy pay an annoyed lip curl. "Here's your change." She offered a handful of coins to the shorter girl. "Your order will be over shortly." An obvious fake smile plastered onto her face as she headed to the back room. 'Most likely to gossip about me,' Alexa thought bitterly, turning her back to the counter. While looking for a seat, Alexa glanced over her shoulder for a split second. Out of her perpetual vision she saw a dark, messy haired man downed in formal wear with the exception of his worn red sneakers. As quick as he came the man vanished. Alexa curiously skipped over to his last noted location although, as she expected, the man was gone.

Shaking her head, Alexa rubbed her eyes. 'Some odd vision, could've sworn he was there..' Her thoughts were interrupted by a feminine calling out the name she had given, "Alex!" Alexa glanced back once more at the corner of the coffee shop where she was certain she could see a scuff mark made by sneakers before taking off towards her short awaited treat. Alexa smiled slightly, taking the paper cup from the cashier. "Thanks." She mumbled, backing away from the counter and over to an unnoccupied booth in the back of the room. She slid into the cold bench, shivering a little and remembering that she was, in fact, soaked. Her hands wrapped comfortably around the cardboard sleeve placed around the cup. Breathing in the scent of the pleasant cafe felt distant. It felt disconnected from the world outside, A place where people could relax and regain their thoughts.

Convincing herself of this, Alexa made up her mind to go after the man. Wherever it took her.
