Again, if you have read "The Beginning", you would know that I do not own Escaflowne, so please don't blame anything on me, the story is pure fiction, and nothing comes from my experience, and don't e-mail me about anyone's crush on Van. I already have one of my own to deal with.

The Romance
(Van and Hitomi are now near the kingdom of Fanelia.)
Sitting on a rock, the couple think of each other.
"Hitomi is so beautiful in this light" thought Van
"He's grown taller and more muscular the past year" thought Hitomi.
They gazed into each other's eyes, the warmth. Then it happened. THE KISS! The kiss they had longed for such a long time. It seemed to last forever. Van and Hitomi never ceased to stop. This was one kiss they would never forget.
Strolling along the meadow, Van and Hitomi held hands. Never had they ever been so happy.
"Hitomi, I love you"
"I love you, too, Van, always"
Hitomi was so lighthead that Van had to carry her all the way back to the castle. The peasants shook their heads in amusement. Van approached the castle where the moat was lowered.
"Lord Van!" exclaimed Merle. "Hitomi?"
"Move out of the way Merle, I'm taking Hitomi to my chamber she has a headache." commanded Van.
(NOTE:Hitomi may have a headache, but why take her to Van's chamber???)
"Wake up my love" said Van.
"Van, I feel like the whole world has stopped"
"Me, too, darling" said Van. "Will you do me a favor, Hitomi?"
"Yes, Van, anything for you."
"Will you do me the honor of being my Queen, my bride, my wife?"
"What? Are you asking me to marry you?"
"Yes, I am."
"But this is all so sudden."
"Yes or no?"
"Yes Van, yes, I'll be your Queen, bride, wife, whatever you want to call me."
"Well I like the sound Queen Hitomi or maybe Hitomi Fanel."
"Oh Van, I love you so much!"
