Reyna knew the second that girl, Piper, got off the ship was that she was with Jason.
"Piper McLean", The girl said softly. Her dark choppy hair was swaying in her eyes, kaleidoscope eyes.
"Reyna", Reyna responded.
Right now Reyna was sitting on a stone bench, memory's of the second giant war flinging itself into the praetors mind. They defeated Gaea and that's all that matters, right? Wrong. Reyna was heart broken. Reyna hated the Venus daughter who stole Jason. The Jason that used to be best friends with Reyna but now he was... He was... A blob. How could he? Reyna gazed at a fairly new constellation. The hunter of Artemis. Percy told Reyna the story of Zöe Nightshade, the former leader of the hunters of Artemis. At first Reyna didn't believe Percy, his quests were...well...dangerous. But Reyna knew Percy would never lie about something so serious. All Reyna could mostly think about was Jason. He spent all his time with the Greeks.
"traitor", Reyna hissed in the darkness, tears fell down the daughter of Bellona's face. A crinkle of leaves from the nearby bushes made Reyna jump. "Who's there?!" Reyna pulled her imperial gold sword from her belt, holding it next to her face, so close she could see her own reflection.
"oh, it's me Piper", A high voice croaked. Out came the daughter of Venus, she was matted from dirt, with leaves and twigs making a nest in Pipers hair. Reyna had a hard time stifling a laugh.
"what do you want!", Reyna demanded. Reyna didn't care at all to behead this Greek.
"I came to say sorry"
"for what?", Reyna asked, curiosity flicking inside of her.
"we came off to a bad start..."
" YA THINK!" Piper looked sad as she gazed at Reyna.
"Hera plucked Jason out of your grasp, but I don't really think he really has the same feelings for you, and it is all my fault", Piper murmured. For a moment Reyna wanted to behead Piper on the spot, but then she softened. Here she was being a jealous jerk while the poor girl was trying to say sorry!
"look Piper... I'm sorry as well... I was jealous of you, you and Jason having each other, when I loved Jason", Reyna sobbed. Piper hugged the praetor of new Rome.
"we can restart... Okay? Shh it's okay" Reyna cried heavily for the next few minutes. When she was done, she looked into the bright kaleidoscope eyes.
"yea we can restart", Reyna agreed.
"well then. I'm Piper McLean, daughter of Aphrodite"
"Reyna, daughter of Bellona" Piper got up and smiled at her new friend. She then jogged swiftly to a nearby bush, fleetingly she gave one last glance to the daughter of Bellona then disappeared.
So there was Reyna, daughter of Bellona, lying on a cold stone bench, gazing at constellations, wondering how much her life would change.
