A love
I love you,
a love that I cannot control.
My heart is beating, pumping
at twice it's normal rate.
I love a love that
will never be expressed
to you.
But I will always go on loving you.
You left me
You left me.
you left me hanging,
stranded, fending for myself,
in the brutal
world of reality.
No where to go,
no where to turn
because
you left me.
I've never gone down this path alone before.
You were always there,
protecting me,
shrouding me.
No evil struck my path
as long as you were there.
But then--
you left me.
You left me alone,
alone to walk the world
in all it's faults.
To see the filth
and evil
that has infested our lives.
You left me,
and now I'm scared.
I've never been alone,
but now I am.
Because you left me.
Expectations
How do you expect me to fend for myself
when all I know is your arms, your embrace?
How will I fight, knowing that our loves is no more?
I know that I must,
but it seems impossible.
Without you,
I can't be me.
I can't be us.
The rise and fall of a young lover
The rise was amazing,
but the fall was deafening.
You were mine not to long ago,
and I reveled in having you
as mine.
By the same token
I was yours.
I was ready to submit to
anything and everything.
I would have gone
to the ends of earth for you,
but someone had other plans.
Those plans did not involve
you continuing to live,
and so I fell.
