"Come on Traneth! Wesa can't wait forever!" shouted a young Gungan. "Hesa slow!" He whispered to the girl walking next to him.

"Am I now, Rajann?" Traneth replied as he materialized from the darkness in front of the two.

"Whoa! Yousa gonna scare Sairen," Rajann said.

"Hey, you're the one who jumped half out of your skin. And down onto my toes, by the way." Sairen said, shoving Rajann off of her foot. "What time is it? My mom's expecting me home for dinner."

"We have plenty of time. Besides, no one's ever been here before." Traneth replied. "I think this used to be a palace of some sort. It's so huge!" The three teenagers walked through the darkness illuminated only by the glowrods each of them carried. They walked forward in the darkness next to a wall. None of them had ever seen this much empty space inside one room. As they walked, Traneth and Sairen remained mostly silent, while Rajann talked nervously.

The trio lived on the ancient Nabooan side of Naboo, which had been highly urbanized. The other side of Naboo, the side traditionally lived upon by the Gungans, remained natural, resulting in Naboo being perfectly split into city and jungle. However, the peace between the Gungans and the Naboo led to the mingling of the two races, many Gungans moving into the cities of the Naboo and many Naboo moving into the underwater cities of the Gungans. The city side of Naboo was built up over the existing structures until many of them were lost underneath the other buildings. The three teenagers were currently exploring one of these old structures. The specific structure they were in was the royal palace used before the Naboo-Gungan peace made by Queen Amidala.

"Hey, look at this side-passage. It looks like it has old frames for shield doors on it," Traneth said. "Something important was probably in here. Let's go check it out."

"Okay, but if we're late I'll let you tell my mother why, Traneth," Sairen replied.

"Yousa mother gives mesa the creepsies!" Rajann stammered as the trio walked down the side passage. After a minute of walking, they came across a giant pit in the ground. "Thatsa be a biiig hole! We fall down that we go boombad!"

"Wow! This pit is deep! You can't even see the bottom. I wonder what's down there?" Sairen said.

"I know how we can find out. I brought the mini gravlift in case we found any loot." Traneth explained. "We could use that to slow our fall before we hit the bottom."

"Oh no, wesa not go down there! There probably be monsters hiding in there and eat us when wesa fall! No way mesa going! No way at all!" Rajann squealed.

"I'm going to have to agree with Rajann on this one. Even if the gravlift slows our fall enough so we don't die, how are we going to get back up?" Sairen asked.

"Oh, come on you guys! What's the point of coming this far if we're going to let a hole stop us? There's probably a lot of amazing treasure down there that we can take home to our families! We have to at least try. Besides, why would there be a hole with no way out for maintenance people and stuff? We can totally do this just fine," Traneth argued.

"I guess you have a good point. We can go down there and check it out if we find another way down. I don't want to get down there just to find a caved in stair tunnel," Sairen agreed.

"Oh, come on. The fall will be the most fun part. You haven't seen any other areas caved in so why would the maintenance tunnel be? We've been walking around for hours and I for one am ready for a little fun," Traneth resumed.

"Fine, I'll do it!" Sairen said. "Are you coming Rajann or should we leave you up here? It looks like your glowrod is about to go out."

"Aah! Mesa coming! Mesa not staying up here in dark with monsters. Not at all!" Rajann answered. The trio then climbed on top of the gravlift, causing it to lower slightly, and then shoved themselves off the edge of the pit.
