It was so dark in the cell. Juniper looked at the moon. She tried getting comfortable in her bed. Her eyes were full of tears.
She felt terrible and afraid. She was accused of murder. Thinking of her best friend gave her little relief from the harshness of the cell. She fully believed in Athena to prove her not guilty but she was so scared that her friendship with her friends Hugh and Robin would be ruined.
Her face flinched thinking about the terrible scene of Hugh's bloody hand. No matter how hard she tried she couldn't get it out of her head. She sat back up knowing she wouldn't sleep anytime soon. She thought of her conversation with Athena earlier.
"I didn't want to see it," she tried to explain. Athena looked in thought. "Hugh wouldn't kill anyone!"
"Junie," Athena said looking so compassionate. She felt Juniper's pain. The torment. She just couldn't see any other way than Hugh being the real murderer.
"You shouldn't worry!" The silence was broken the girls looked over. Apollo stood there smiling. "After seeing what you saw, I'd be worried if you weren't scared! Really!"
Juniper stared at him. He was smiling so brightly after what she said to him. But it felt a little contagious.
"I'm sorry," Juniper said between coughs.
"Hey you're pretty brave," Apollo said. Athena stood there thinking Apollo could boost Juniper's spirit. "Really telling the truth after everything!"
"Even if it might incriminate my friend," Juniper said. Apollo shook his head.
"Hey sometimes you have to tell the truth," Apollo said. "I mean think about it this way. If your friend was hypothetically smoking or doing drugs what would you do?"
"Try to help him stop of course," Juniper said immediately.
"And if he didn't would you tell someone or leave it alone?" Apollo continued. Athena nodded knowing how similar it could be.
"I would tell his parents," Juniper said. She smiled softly.
"Ok now answer me this," Apollo said. "When you told the truth you did feel a little relieved right?" Juniper looked in thought but finally she nodded.
"A little," she said. Apollo smiled brightly.
"Don't worry Juniper," Apollo said. "I'm sure he'll forgive you!" Juniper nodded feeling better. Not skipping in flowers better but enough to smile again.
"Thank you," Juniper said as she started crying again. She looked at the guard who was getting up. She looked back down. "I-I think visiting hours are up."
"Don't worry Junie!" Athena said. "We'll prove your innocence." She flashed a peace sign. "See you tomorrow." She got up. Apollo followed. Juniper didn't really want him to go though. When she was about to leave the room she looked over.
"!"
Apollo was standing at the entrance on the other side of the glass. He shot her a gentle smile.
She smiled. His smile gave her all the hope in the world. She looked back at the moon. She got up in order to go up to the window. She stopped. She looked down.
"!"
It was then she realized she was knitting a scarf with hearts on it.
She blushed from embarrassment. But the blush soon turned from that of embarrassment to that of warmth. She continued on thinking of her personal light that was as strong as the sun.
AN: Wow I'm active this week! So anyway I was disappointed in the fact that we didn't really get any details about Junie liking Apollo until like the last 5 minutes so I decided to write it myself.
