Chapter one:
Megan's friends were setting up there sleeping bags in Megan's room , while Megan went downstairs to get some snacks for her friends Melissa , Autumn and, Jenny . When Megan got back with the snacks Jenny looked out the window and asked ," who lives in the scary looking house down the street?"
"That house was abandoned when we moved here." Megan replied. All the girls huddled next to window to get a closer look at the house. Melissa happened to look at the chimney and saw smoke coming out, she gulped and worried to her friends. They all raced downstairs, right when they reached the door they all grabbed their jackets and Megan quickly yelled to her mom ,"We're going outside for a while."
Her mom replied, "Dinner's at seven thirty."
The leaves crunched under the girl's feet as they ran to the abandoned house.
Autumn asked nervously, "Should we go in?"
They all nodded and when Autumn opened the door the adventure began. The floor creaked as the girls walked in. Megan went to the kitchen (being the bravest of the girls) and looked around and just as she was about to leave the room something caught her eye. A key! The key was on a counter, she called her friends in to tell them the news. As soon as the girls heard, they started to look for a door that needed a key. They looked everywhere, but they didn't find it . The girls sat down on the rusty chairs in the old living room. The air smelled of adventure , the dust felt like bravery but the girls didn't suspect a thing.
