Alone he stands attired in bowler brim
His brolly leaned supportively beside
All passersby gaze on in awe of him
And wonder what the cause of such great pride.
A woman joins him as the winter sun
Sinks slowly out of view the pavement o'er
And there they stand, their shadows merged as one
Their silhouettes entwined as e're before.
We all remember Steed and Mrs. Peel
Whose daring feats we watched with bated breath
We may not know of Gale or King or Keel
But John and Emma stay with us til death.
And so throughout the days we've left to live
Our admiration to this pair we give.
