Chara laughed as she ran up the hill. Behind her was Frisk, who crept along slowly. "C'mon, Frisky! I'm running ahead of you and nothing's happening!" Laughed the child in the green-and-yellow sweater. Frisk sighed as she made her descent over a large rock in her path, grumbling.
"Why are we out here anyway?"
"My friends at school said there was an amazing view up here! The other kids at the orphanage will be so jealous if we go to the top!"
"The top!?" Shrieked the young child, and she froze to a halt, making Chara turn around with frustration.
"Come on, chicken heart, the faster we get up the faster we go down!" Chara said, now overwhelmed with frustration and anger at her younger sister. "UGH! This is infuriating! Do you not want fame at home?" The 11-year-old punched the wall, causing a small rumble due to her raging force. Frisk looked to CHara in horror as two sharp stones fell from above.
"Chara!" The girl cried, and ran towards her older sister, shoving her out of the way. She looked up at the rocks as they hit her face, and she screamed in pain as the sharp ends hit her eyes. She shut them tight, and found she could not open them again. Chara ran back to her sister, who was crying with tints of red in her tears.
"Frisk! Don't worry, I gotcha here!" The girl ripped off a bit of her sleeve and bound it tightly around the little girl's head, right where her closed eyes were, in a sort of bandana way that covered her eyelids. Frisk stopped crying, settling slightly and smiling up at her unseen sister. Chara hugged her sister tightly. "There we go, it's alright, I'm sorry. Let's go..." Grabbing Frisk's hand, Chara helped up the little girl and the two began to walk forward... until the ground began to rumble from under them. Frisk began to scream, and Chara squeezed Frisk's hand tighter. The ground couldn't take the two's combined weight on the same small area, and the rocks tumbled away from under their feet.
"Chara! Nowhere to go but down!" Frisk cried, and Chara nodded. Hugging her sister tightly, Frisk squeezed her eyes shut more than they already were, and the two began to crash down into the abyss below. All that Frisk saw from under her eyelids was golden flowers, visions of a small child, his name unknown, coming and picking the two up.
Chara hugged her sister back, and fell with her eyes looking only above. She wanted to get a good look at the sky. Heh... she thought, grinning.
It really is beautiful up here.
Then it was dark.
