A/N I really wanted to write about the Childhood of the British Isles, so, I am.

I do not own Hetalia, no matter how hard I may wish to…

Dana was beautiful. She was the embodiment of everything a Celtic woman should have been, which made sense, because that's what she was. She was a young woman, her hair was long, reaching past her waist almost to her thighs, and it cascaded down in soft waves. There were always flowers in her hair, gifts given to her by her 'children'. Her eyes were bluer than the skies, and they held a gentle love for every living creature. In the midst of war, however, they held a ferocity that frightened any man.

Dana raised five children, Ireland aka Hibernia, Scotland, Wales, France aka Gaul, and England. Ireland was her only daughter, She was found wandering the forests outside of Dublin before any of the others. She had short hair, chopped with a knife, though it was very wavy despite being hacked off. Her eyes were green, and her face was covered in freckles.

Scotland was a strong boy, Ireland found him. She was playing in the woods across the sea from her home when the younger boy with a mop of blonde hair came up and threatened her. He thought she was going to cause harm to his people, and the two nearly killed each other before Dana found them.

Wales was a quiet boy with soft brown hair, and pale skin. Dana found him near a river, playing with some make shift dolls made from hay. He was sweet, yet very quiet. Scotland and Ireland forgot he existed at times. Nevertheless Scotland and he shared a strong bond.

Gaul was a sweet faced boy, born from Dana's own womb after a short lived affair with the Roman empire. He was nearly a clone of Dana, Soft, wavy yellow hair and bright blue eyes. Everyone fell in love with him as a baby, it was hard not to.

England was a stubborn boy, he had choppy blonde hair and was found in London. He had green eyes, and a face full of freckles. The other children, all of them in their early teens, were unkind to him. He desperately tried to play with them, but due to being so young he could not keep up with them in sword play, and he was unable to ride a horse on his own. Due to his small stature and his youth, the others didn't want to waste time trying to play with him, they didn't want to explain things to him, and often ignored him completely.

Gaul was the exception. There were times when he would tease him, but more often than not he would play with him. Dana would find them sitting under a tree together playing with fairies, or picking flowers in a meadow, and she even saw Gaul give England a haircut once.

Hibernia, Scotland and Wales, on the other hand, enjoyed play-fighting with each other. They would ride horses through the same meadows England and Gaul would pick their flowers from and destroy the flowers, making England cry.

Dana loved all her children to death, literally. Near the end of her life she had a meeting with Romanus, the Roman Empire, so that he could visit his son Gaul. The meeting never happened though, as soon as Romanus entered the small house Dana resided in he pulled a knife. Unaware of this, Dana ran to hug him, only to be stabbed. Romanus left immediately after, leaving Dana lying on the floor bleeding as her children watched in horror.

A/N that was the introduction, review and tell me what you think. I promise, this will be less live an essay and more like a story in the next chapters…
