Long Gone

I was happy that day,
The day of the fight,
A feeling long gone now,
Just like you.

I was smiling,
You were laughing,
Both so happy,
So…alive.

Then we felt it,
Felt the call,
Dragging us back towards our graves,
To Voldemort, to fury, to blood and to guts.

The battle was frightening,
Drew horror to the bravest,
Dead corpses thrown around,
Just like rag dolls.

I turned, there you were,
Just lying on the floor,
No breath from your mouth,
No beat from your heart.

We cried, there was crying,
But what good is it to you?
We spent our lives fighting,
You lost.
