Based on a challenge I discovered ages ago (maybe from P&S). As far as I can remember, it had to include the words "drowning", "meteor", and "metal".
Drabble, just over a hundred words. Enjoy.

He was dying.
The bitter irony was enough to make him laugh.
He, Harry James Potter, had survived his parents' murder, had endured more than ten years of neglect, had faced the Dark Lord four times and lived to tell the tale...
And now he was dying, drowning in pain, the lump of metal lodged in his chest sending out waves of agony as the bullet worked its way deeper into his weakening body.
Lean hands cradled his body, the black eyes panicked as a steady incantation left Snape's lips to no avail.
It sounded to Harry like a lullaby.
The words soothed him, calmed him, lulling him to sleep...
The realization hit him like a meteor from outer space...
He was dying.
