"Robin I'm confused. About us." said Starfire softly. A panicked look crossed his face. "Maybe if you just told me how you feel –"

"Starfire I'm not very good at that…" Robin began. Starfire turned away and lowered her head. His look of alarm softened. "You're one of the best super heroes I know."

She turned to face him, a smile tugging at the corner of her mouth.

"Really?"

"Yes. You're brave and smart."

And beautiful he added to himself as the light of the fire illuminated her face.

"And you like my friendship?"

Robin smiled – that was a no-brainer.

"Like it? I love it." He replied warmly taking her hand.

Starfire giggled and blushed so hard her head could be easily mistaken for Mars.

For a moment they stared into each other's eyes. Although they were on an alien planet Robin had never felt more at home. He leant forward to kiss her but a worryingly nearby roar made the pair jump. Robin was standing in his default pose which happened to be just in front of Starfire. She too was alert.

As the large hairy creature they'd encountered earlier approached the pair backed out onto the end of the path. Realising it was a dead end Robin threw a well-aimed throwing star at the monster. All this seemed to do was irritate it.

Regretting his actions Robin tried to use a grapple hook.

"I'm fresh out!" he realised. "Starfire, let's – "

But before Robin could finish his sentence the creature grabbed him. He kicked and flailed but its grip was crushing him.

"Robin!" yelled Starfire.

He gasped in pain but could not muster the breath to respond. A dazzling green light blinded him.

The next thing he knew he was laying on the floor and the creature was scared away into the distance. Starfire rushed over to him.

"Thanks." he grunted.

"Robin are you hurt?"

He tried to stand but it was painful. He took a sharp intake of breath as he realised what was wrong.

"I think I might've cracked a rib."

Starfire gasped.

"You must stay here and rest."

"But what if that thing comes back? We have to find the others."

"I shall send up a fireball and maybe they'll realise where we are." Robin shielded his eyes as Starfire sent up a particularly vibrant signal. "Now where were we?"

"I was telling you how brave, smart and beautiful you are." Robin replied.

Starfire blushed.

"You think I'm beautiful?"
