For Ziva David, she shields any emotional feelings and doesn't allow them to flow through. Not through her words, actions, or facial expressions. But DiNozzo is right - her eyes won't shut up.

When she's mad, her brown eyes go from their usual softness to a deep brown with a fire brewing within. When she's happy, they literally light up, and they become a soft, excited soft chocolate colour. When she's sad however, they just turn bleak and empty, and their beautiful brown colour just fades into nothingness.

This is her only weakness as far as she is concerned.

One morning, Ziva walked into the office acting as her usual-self. She slung her coat over her chair, bag down behind her desk and started work. Like usual. However, as Tony observed her quietly he noticed her eyes. They were filled with a fiery rage, but a sadness seemed to cloak the fire. At one point, she catches his gaze and her jaw opens slightly. But then she clicks her tongue with a sigh and continues working.

He knows something's wrong.

At one point during the day, she gets up and wanders to the elevator. He follows and makes it just in time. He isn't the one to flick the emergency stop. She is. No one speaks. And the silence is swallowing them alive, pulling them into it's grip, suffocating them. Once again, she opens her mouth to speak but she closes it as quickly it has been opened.

"Come on, Ziva. Spit it out,"

She is slightly confused by his request, and her eyebrows knot up in a befuddled expression and she tilts her head to the side.

He sighs with an annoyed tone, "What's wrong. It's written in your eyes,"

That's her breaking point, "Tony… my… sister. She died 15 years ago today…"

He pulls her into a hug, and whispered, "It'll be alright. I'm here,"

"I know…" she cries quietly, "But what if we die like my sister did. In a bombing, or a shooting or -,"

"Ziva, shh… we're here now. We're not going anywhere,"

"But…"

"Ziva. I'll be here to protect you, I promise. I will never leave you,"

She stepped away from him, and looking in his eyes, she asks, "Like a guardian angel?"

"Yes," he answers, blinking back tears, "Like a guardian angel Ziva,"
