Aria rushed through the street heels hitting the pavement in a steady rhythm. She turned the last corner that led to his apartment. As she approached the big gray building her frown turned to a smile. She used the back of her hand to brush away a few tears that had fallen. She reached his floor and was just a foot away from his wooden door. Aria looked at the number 3B in silver metal on the door. She'd been here many times before but never like this. She lifted her hand and knocked gently. She heard him get up and make his way to the door. When it opened she was face to face with the best thing in her life.
"Aria! What's wrong?" he asked in complete shock seeing her with puffy red eyes and a tear stained face.
"I can't do this anymore." She took a deep breath and looked at the floor.
"Do what?" Ezra asked in terror.
"It wasn't fair to keep this from you for so long. I knew I should have told you before but I made a promise. Now I have to break it because this is too important." Ezra was still looking at her with a confused and scared expression. Aria took another deep breath and closed her eyes.
"A month ago I went to Maggie's classroom. I told her my name was Amy and I was looking to apply for a teaching job. She didn't know I knew about you and her. We talked for a while. Then a little boy came up and asked her a question. I thought it was cute that he wanted her permission. She told me that he was her son. He was about seven years old. She thought I was figuring out the math of it all. She told me she was a teen mom." Aria blabbed as fast as possible. She looked up to see Ezra's eyes become covered with a layer of tears. She reached out and pulled him into a hug. She felt him rest his chin atop her head.
"I'm so sorry I didn't tell you earlier." She sobbed into his cotton shirt.
"It's alright." He choked out. She held him there close for as long as he needed. When he finally pulled back, she saw a tear rolling down his perfect cheek.
"Are you gonna be ok?" she asked brushing the tear from his cheek with her thumb.
"Yeah, I'll be fine." He assured her.
"Will you go see her?" she asked a little hesitantly.
"I have to. I need her to explain this to me." He explained.
"What will happen to us?" she asked softly.
"Aria, we're still going to be together." He told her softly pushing her hair behind her ear.
"Promise?" she asked
"I Promise I'll never leave you Aria." He took her chin and lifted it so their lips met gently. He held them there for a minute before pulling her back into a hug. He didn't want anything more than he wanted Aria to still be with him even if there was a child to be added into the equation…even though it was already complicated enough
