Rebel Love Song
Pawprints In The Snow
"Remus, I... " Sirius choked once more on his words. He desprately wanted to speak that of which burned him. It was just so hard with someone as fragile as Remus.
"Go on," Remus beckoned. His wide amber eyes glowed intensly in the half-moon light, which made him even more handsome, if possible.
"I... I..." the stutters came again, and Sirius clamped his mouth shut. Ashamed, he turned away, to pick at the grass by his sneaker-clad foot.
"Really, you've tried to tell me so many times. Spit it out already."
He sighed. It was just so hard to say his feelings to Remus. Why, he didn't know. What he did know, however, is that he wanted to uncovered the hidden words. "I can't hide it anymore. What's been on my mind, as of late. I... I just..."
Remus took his hand, holding it close to his chest, right over where his heart should be. "You can trust me. I want to know your feelings. Please, Sirius."
"I just... I just want to claim what's rightfully mine. And every time I try something comes up. It's aggravating."
"Oh."
"Yeah. And its not like I'm gonna think different."
Remus nodded, and slid himself under the arm that was propping Sirius up. Sirius repositioned himself against the oak, cradling Remus in his muscled arms. Remus laid his head in the crook of Sirius's neck, and they sat, watching the water reflect the partial moon.
"I understand." Remus whispered, barely audible. But it was there.
"I mean, who cares what anyone thinks of us? James, Lily, and Peter accept us. Did we expect different? Did we expect total understanding? I didn't. It shouldn't matter. We could just, abandon it. Forever. Let no one stop us tonight."
Remus upturned his head, eyes large, innocent. Lips red and pouty, and Sirius couldn't help but steal a kiss.
"I deal with the snide remarks. Every cruel comment the other students have to say. I just don't care anymore. We're different. Our world is different. And it just happened to clash with theirs. Who really gives a damn?" Sirius's grey eyes watched the jerky movements of Remus. The smaller boy had stared intently at the woods beyond the lake.
"I don't." Remus uttered. Sirius's heart skipped a beat. He felt the same! He really did!
"Really, do you feel that way Remus?" They seperated slightly, and Remus watched as Sirius's hair shimmered in the inhuman glow of the moon.
"I do. Honestly. Nothing will stop us. Just like you said." Remus stood, and walked a few paces closer to the lake side, and sat. Sirius followed, uncertain now.
"I'm not so sure you agree."
Remus stood, almost a head shorter than Sirius. He grabbed both Sirius's hands with his own. "Yes, I'm very sure. It will be ours tonight. We've got to. It's this, or nothing at all."
"Do or die," Sirius grinned, liking how determined Remus was now.
"Yes," Remus cooed, and Sirius chuckled, pulling Remus into a passionate kiss.
"They can't keep us from out freedom now."
"I know," Remus gasped. Sirius began pulling him over to a secluded part of the lake, where weeds stood high. And in the center was a small patch of lush green grass, the dew drops sparkling in the light of the moon. Sirius laid Remus down.
"Are you sure?"
Remus gave a brave nod, and Sirius responded with, "I love you."
This is a rebel love song.
