"Bardira: Honor Among Kirigami"

Chapter 2: Least expected visitor

One day outside of ConTon City at St. Dragon Street, Bardock was out picking up groceries and has just arrived home to his house. He got out of his car, strecthed his back and closed the door. "And here I was looking for a reason to let loose..." He said to himself. Bardock opened the trunk of his car to get the bags out of the car, as Rachel and Leyna ran out the front door to help. "You have me thrown for a loop this time." said Bardock handing out $10 to the girls. "Welcome back, papa." Leyna replied.

"Oh! That reminds me!" Rachel exclaimed. "Me and Leyna are supposed to be going on a B-Rank Mission for a VIP on Sodor today!" "What VIP?" said Bardock as he handed Rachel and Leyna a bag of groceries. "There's a celebrity named the Flying Scotsman; and we're supposed to get everything ready for him, when he comes. And we were supposed to arrive in 10 minutes." "Hey, I don't rush things okay?" he said giving Rachel one bag. "Now how bout' you help me here with these bags first?" "Alright..." answered Rachel.

Mira came out when he saw Rachel walk back inside the house with Leyna, "Welcome back." Mira said. "Sorry I was gone that long, but no worries; I got back safely." "Goodbye Bardock, we'll see you soon!" "Bye Papa!" said the girls as they flew off. "Later." answered Bardock. "Where are they going?" Mira asked. "They'll be fine, Mira. Oh come on, you act like they don't know how to take care of themselves." said Bardock. "Besides, they're old enough to go out on their own." "I guess you're right. Kids." Mira thought to himself. "WOAH!" said a voice.

"What was that?" Bardock said. Mira and Bardock looked up, above them was a cat-like rabbit hybrid flying in a huge plane. "HEADS UP! GET OUT OF THE WAY!" They dodged it, but the plane was unable to dodge the tree it was going to crash land into. "Excuse me!" *CRASH!* The plane was in smithereens; birds flew clear from the crash as the tree burned down, but the pilot was surrounded by smoke. Bardock and Mira ran over for a closer view, out from the smoke came the the pilot; who was half-cat, half-rabbit. *coughing* "Ohh... Rotten wings..." he muttered. "That's your own fault." Bardock shouted. "Flying wrecklessly and showing off, what the hell was that!?"

"P-P-Please forgive me gentleman..." spoke the pilot. "B-But i-it was my one of the wings that were the problem... They caught on fire a-a-and I didn't know what to do..." "You know, you could've at least jumped out with a parachute." Mira replied. "*sigh* True..." said the pilot. "But one of the D-Dark Knights came and-..." "That's no excuse to crashland on our territory!" scoulded Bardock. "God I hate people sometimes...!" The pilot sighed, then sat down looking lost. Mira crouched down and sat next to the pilot. "Tell the whole story. What happened?"

"Well." he said. "I guess I can tell you..." he got up, brushed his chin and vest, and stood up. "My name is Usago, I'm a messenger from the village of Kirigami. I serve Queen Akira; the Diamond Castle Queen. She's the magician of light and protects her villagers with a bright ray of Starlight Magic. But sadly, our village was attacked by the Dark Army of Knights hired by King Ataru. Him and those bastards came running and nearly destroyed everything we had..." Usago began to cry a little, but took a deep breath. "Everything you loved?" asked Mira. "Let me tell my side of the story-."

But Bardock interupted. "So, what you're saying is an army of dark hooded horseman ran over to your village, completely uninvited, and destroyed half of our city...?" Usago kept talking in a sad tone. "Yes... Ten years ago this happened, eventually, we forced to build a 60 to 70 meter wall; to seal us out of the open fields. There; a giant gate was installed to the wall, so that intruders wouldn't tresspass. I tried to convince them otherwise about the wall, but it was no use...and it was too late... Everyone was adapting to the wall; sure but... We could only go out for farming crops, and caddle and pony nurture. THAT kind of stuff. I wasn't sent out for any of those..."

"You must be miserable after all of that." said Mira. "Indeed." "So, how did you fly all the way out here?" asked Bardock. "It was simple, I used my plane to get out. I can't use the gate because then everybody feared I might get attacked again. Queen Akira sent me here to look fo, dare I say... 'extra muscle' for the village's castle. But the Diamond Knights; they weren't so lucky to be called out like I was." He raised his finger in the air and shouted proudly. "Very well, I wil take to the queen!" he said. "Just as soon as I repair my plane..." The men stared but accepted with a nod.
