fates that can only be undone by giving up dreams
Fate has many ways
to unravel: the obvious path,
the path that slopes and slants and vanishes
from sight, only to return again,
the path hidden in webs and thorns
of deceit
But all of them lead together
to the same place, the same final foot
in future's door, despite how he tries to save
and maybe there is a way yet: the way to life
to give up one's dreams, and hope –
but none will heed those words.
Those who listen to his warnings wish to change their paths
themselves; they will not sacrifice that thing: the one thing
they continue living for…
And then, there are those
who do not listen at all.
