A/N~

Hai, my fabulous and kawaii nekos! I'm Utani Tu but you can call me Tani. Dis is mah very first story, so no flames, plz! And shoutout to Lilkinny! Your so amazing and your stories are so thoughtful and creative. They're the main inspiration for this story, actually! Ok, enjoy~

A twenty-year-old girl looks at the building from a safe distance. She was very nervous for her first day of work. Her eyes were a pretty silver that changed colors when they were under light. Her wavy blond has streaks of brown in it as if she had dyed it before (however, she made people surprised when she said she never did). She has a few freckles that dotted her pale skin. Many people said that it was cute on her. Of course, a lot of them also confessed to her but they were rejected. Lucy Lancaster was very picky with men, and still is to this day.

Lucy stares at the sign:

"HELP NEEDED."

She lifts a hand and nervously pushes the door open. A bell twinkles as she enters the cafe.

And, to make a great first impression, she accidentally collides into a stranger. The boy's coffee becomes a flying object as it spills over their heads. It burns their skin as the stranger winces in pain, muttering a swear. He opened his eyes to yell in anger at the girl, but stopped. She was too much like a small doll for him to even speak a mean word against.

"S-sorry!" she whimpered.

"It's… it's all right." he said.

"No, no, I'll buy you a coffee or something. I'm really sorry." she said.

Lucy goes to the cashier, completely forgetting about her main goal of being in the cafe. "What do you want?" she asks. "Pick anything."

Out of thankfulness, he picks the cheapest one. "Just one fudge brownie please."

Taking tons of napkins, they clean up as much of the spilled coffee as they could. After it was all gone, they sit down.

Remembering her early goal, Lucy hops out of the chair. Quickly, she moves towards the counter and after talking to the cashier, shows them a small form. She is then directed towards a side door. Taking a deep breath, she opens the door, ready to face her interviewer.

Lucy's POV

I can't believe I actually got the job! The interviewer was actually a pretty nice woman. She spoke clearly and patiently waited for my answers. With the money I'll earn, I can finally rent an apartment and move out of my parents' house! I mean, I love my parents with my heart, but they can be so annoying sometimes. They always say I should start seeing someone. I want to do that, of course, but I haven't met anyone yet who makes my heart beat.

I don't really believe in soulmates. The idea of someone designed for you is absolutely ludicrous and rather ignorant. Maybe I'm wrong but I belive that if you want to find someone, you have to work for them yourself.

After my interview, I leave the room. I kinda expected the guy I spilled coffee on to be sitting there, waiting for me, but when I came to the table it was empty. Oh, well. I thought he'd be a cool friend. I need one to get me around town and guide me, to be honest. This city is huge, and if I miss a corner or something I can end up in a dark alleyway or something.

Later that day, I bought lunch from McDonald's and walked around the neighborhood. After searching for a few hours, I found some pretty cheap apartments. I asked for the manager and managed to successfully rent a room after filling up some paperwork.

With some help to move my stuff from my parents' house to the apartment, I can move in in about a week. I can't wait to meet my neighbors! Maybe they can even star in my Youtube videos or at least play Minecraft with me!
