The unfortunate thing about being a psychology major is that you know pretty much what everyone is thinking, based on speech and actions.
So Nate determines, anyway, as he watches Kensi and Dom across the room, talking quietly about some topic unrelated to their current case.
Without the degree, what he's doing is creepy. With the degree, however, he's simply maintaining a professional interest in the lives of his coworkers.
Maybe it's creepy anyway.
But, since he's not one to lie to himself, he's very aware of the reasons he keeps such a close eye on a certain female co-worker…
He's been attracted to Kensi since her first day, but has kept the feeling to himself due to his personal rule of not dating co-workers. This hasn't lessened his attraction, though he wishes occasionally that it has. In fact, most days anymore he's half-convinced he's going to tell her, damn his rule.
But he's also seen the way she, at first, spoke to G, and anymore the way she speaks to Dom.
As he thinks this, she leans in to Dom with a small smile, and Dom, although surprised, doesn't move away. After a moment, though, she looks up at Nate. He stumbles for a response and offers, after some hesitation, a small smile, which she returns before answering whatever Dom just said.
Nate shakes his head and turns in his chair.
He's changed his mind—the unfortunate thing about being a psychology major is that he never paid attention in sociology.
