A/N: My first submission for the Wolverine and the X-Men fandom. It is random, a bit short, but cute and funny. BobbyxKitty
Summary: While discussing their wedding guest list, Bobby learns that Kitty will always win an argument. It's just easier to agree and say "Yes, dear."
Background info: For the purposes of this fic, Kitty dated Piotr and Bobby dated Lorna before coming to their senses and getting together. :D
Yes, Dear
One of the most important parts of planning a wedding is agreeing on a guest list. Mutual friends, of course. Family, unavoidable. But the ex, or exes as the case may be, provide a very tricky subject. This, of course, is where we find the newly betrothed Katherine Pryde and Robert Drake.
Bobby and Kitty sat next to each other at the kitchen table. Normally, you might find these two in a loving embrace, particularly since Bobby proposed to Kitty. This time, however, Kitty looked particularly frustrated with her fiancé.
"Bobby, he lives in the mansion," Kitty stated.
"So?" came Bobby's reply.
"The wedding is in the mansion."
"I assume you're going to make a point here."
"Bobby, sweetheart, what do you expect to do? Kick him out of the mansion—his home—and tell him not to come back for three to four hours?"
"Sounds great to me. So we're decided then, Piotr is not invited to the wedding." Bobby grinned triumphantly while Kitty just rolled her eyes.
Kitty sighed heavily before trying a different approach. "What about Lorna?"
"What about her?"
"Lorna's invited and she's your ex. Isn't that a bit of a double standard?"
"Kitty, please, that is totally different."
"Oh? You mean you're allowed to be jealous about Piotr but I can't do the exact same thing when it comes to your ex?"
"No, Lorna is in the party from the Genoshan government. And technically, Wanda is invited and given a number of seats to represent Genosha. Lorna just happens to be one of the people she will probably choose to fill those seats."
"So?"
"So Lorna wasn't invited. Whether or not she comes is not up to us."
"Bobby, are you really that scared?" Kitty asked.
"Scared? Why in the world would I be scared?"
Kitty turned in her chair to face Bobby, resting a hand on his knee in a comforting gesture.
"Bobby, I am marrying you. Piotr may have been a part of my past, but you and only you are my future. I don't know what you think will happen if he's at the wedding, but in two months, three weeks, and six days, I will marry you, the love of my life."
Kitty kissed Bobby softly before he turned back to the table and muttered, "Fine, Piotr can come."
"Good. Now, I have some cousins in Michigan that we have to invite, but probably won't be able to come to the wedding. Hopefully they'll send their regrets along with a nice present," Kitty moved on with excitement at the idea of their impending nuptials.
"Yes, dear," Bobby said for the first of many times to come.
A/N: This is a stand-alone oneshot. I enjoyed writing it and hope that you liked reading it. Feel free to drop me a review and let me know what you thought.
