Sui: This is the result of an idea I came up with at about 1:00 in the morning while feeling rather melancholy and slightly out of it. This one was completed in about 10 minutes.
They say that in the forest near the center of town, more of a large park really, there sits a stone. It is worn and weathered and sits on an equally worn raised stone platform in the center of the only clearing in the forest.
They say that the clearing is haunted. That if you stick around long enough, the spectral form of a young man with blond hair and blue eyes who wears an odd orange and black jumpsuit will appear.
They say that he isn't dangerous. That if you approach him, he will tell you stories of his lifetime. His work, the places he's seen, and, eventually, he'll start telling you of the people he knew.
Ero-Sennin was always peaking on women and no matter how many times he got beat up, he never seemed to learn.
Baa-chan always drank on the job.
He always said he was waiting for them all, the friends he had crafted into a family. He never tells anyone that he knows they aren't coming.
The locals find him to be a friendly person, though he disturbs people from out of town.
Strangely enough, no one ever though about why they would leave an undeveloped patch of forest in the middle of a town their size. No one ever wondered why historians never studied the stone. No one ever considered why having an apparent ghost haunting their town never bothered anyone.
There was only one name still legible on the stone, done in crimson stone raised above the rest and surrounded by a bright blue circle that had odd symbols of the same color trailing away from it, all raised stone that protruded out of the normal stone as well.
No one ever noticed the horrible knowledge in the blond haired man's eyes. No one ever noticed the hidden pain in every movement. No one ever noticed the crimson band expanding to consume the blue of his eyes.
The only legible name on the stone, the one made of raised crimson stone rather than carved into stone as the others had been was one of stories told to children about a great hero.
They say that the name on the stone is the name of the young man. Odd that he would share a name with a fairy tale character.
If one was to look closely at the name on the stone and the blue circle and symbols surrounding it, they would see that they glow faintly. They would see that, as time passed, the glow of the red stone grew stronger while the glow of the blue stone faded.
They also say that if you say the name on the stone several times, the ghost would come and grant you a wish, for a price.
Uzumaki Naruto…
Uzumaki Naruto…
Uzumaki Naruto…
"What is your wish, little boy?" The grin was feral and the blue had almost completely bled away into red.
