Prologue
"Izze." I turn my head, and look over at Kyle. A small smile appears on my face. He seems sad, angry even, about my decision. But I have to do it. To save my friends. And the world. He stares at me, and I turn my head away, knowing that the others will have questions that I don't feel like answering. But it's too late. I can hear their soft footsteps getting closer and closer.
"Please, Iz. Stop." I look over at Michelle. The funny thing is I know what's going to happen to me when I get done with what I need to do. But I'm willing to do it. I'm willing to take my life for the others. Who knows, maybe, some day, I'll be back again, in a new dawn, in a new time. But for now, the others are just going to have to wait.
"Iz, it doesn't have to end this way." But it does. I know it does. I smile at Jimmy and simply shake my head. He so smart, but sometimes it can all go to his head. I look over at Sam, who just stands there, looking traumatized.
"Bye guys," I say. I turned my head towards the light, and then, the room gets brighter and brighter. And then, it's gone. All gone….
