Okay, so this is a really really short one shot, but it was just a spur of the moment type of writing thing. Please R&R!

"Crucio!" A girl's screams filled the air. They stopped as the curse was taken off. She fell to her knees and tears filled her eyes as she looked up at her captor. She mouthed one word that the other Death Eaters couldn't see: why.

He gave only one answer, "Crucio!" However, this time, she didn't scream. She knew only one way to stop a Cruciatus Curse and she needed to not scream. No matter how painful it got, physically or emotionally, she couldn't scream. Brittany just stayed on her knees and waited it out.

Draco noticed her strength and it tore at his heart. However, he couldn't show this. Instead, he looked to his fellow members in the circle for help. One after another, they added their curses, all varying in power.

Brittany was using wandless magic to get a stick to come to her. As long as she kept her concentration, the twig would be able to break the curse path. When the first curse was added to Draco's, it didn't faze her very much. The second one added a little more pain. However, the third was the one that almost made her scream. She kept her mouth shut and even bit her lip so hard that it started to bleed.

When Draco saw that it was getting difficult for her again, he had them remain at four curses. He figured it wouldn't be long before she would break. However, Brittany did something next that shocked them all. She slowly slid one leg underneath her. She then moved her hands under her chest. Next, she slowly, and painfully, pushed herself up off the ground. When she was finally to her feet, Draco's mouth hung open. He couldn't believe his eyes.

Draco told the curse off and signaled the others to do the same. As they all stopped at once, Brittany collapsed to the ground, her breathing was very shallow, and she wasn't moving. Draco signaled them all to move out and leave her to die. Brittany was glad when she heard the sound of retreating steps. Her body finally relaxed a little bit and she fell into a sleep.

Draco came back and saw the fragile form of the girl with her eyes closed and her chest not moving. "Oh god." he said quietly. He hoped it wasn't too late. He touched his wand to her chest and said, "Renervate!" She didn't move and tears started to fall down his cheeks. "RENERVATE!!" he said stronger. "C'mon. RENERVATE!" He soon couldn't speak any longer because the tears had choked his voice out. He draped his body over hers. He soon picked her up and rocked her lifeless form.

"I'm sorry, Brittany. I'm so sorry."

Okay so please review and I hope you liked it! Luvs and hugs!
