A/N: Just a short story of how Ruka got rejected by Mikan and how they were remembering it.
Mikan and gang- 16 years old
Youchi- 10 years old
'Today is a bright sunny day. Perfect for a picnic!' Mikan thought. She and the gang( Mikan, Natsume , Ruka , Hotaru, Anna, Nonoko, Koko ,Yuu, Sumire and Mochu.) had planned to have a picnic together at the park. It was 11am and she still has an hour before the picnic starts.
Mikan bathed and got dressed in a yellow dress, white flip flops and a hat on her head. ( A/N: I'm bad at describing so I made it simple. Haha… Sorry) she had another 15 minutes so she walked leisurely to the park. When she arrived at the park, she saw her friends already there except a certain black cat. She ran over to her friends but tripped.
"So today is strawberries, huh?" ( I bet you can guess who this is rite?)
"Natsume no BAKA!!!!!" Screamed our not so little brunette.
"Ouch! Your gonna make my ears bleed, strawberries" Said Natsume
"HENTAI!!!!!" Mikan screamed…. again.
"Oi. Shut up baka." Said Hotaru with her usual emotionless face.
" HOTARRRRRRUUUUU!!!!" Mikan screeched.
BAKA BAKA BAKA BAKA BAKA BAKA
Mikan flew until her back hit a tree and she fell with a loud *THUD*.
" Mou Hotaru you meanie!!!" She cried with tears flowing but Yuu being the 'good guy' tried to calm Mikan until she stopped crying and became cheerful again.
Everyone was having a blast until….. someone just had to bring it up……
"Hey guys. Do you remember when Ruka-kun confessed to Mikan?"
" Yeah. What about it?" Nonoko replied and asked while Mikan and Ruka were blushing like mad.
" Hmm? No nothing just remembering it was funny." The person began to laugh and everyone joined in soon after thinking about it.
FLASHBACK( After class. In the empty classrooms )
"Umm… Er…. Saku.. M-Mi-kan… I hav-v-e so-me-th-ing to tee-l yo-o-uu." Ruka stuttered.
"Hmm?? What is it??" Mikan asked and she turned around only to be faced with a blushing Ruka. " OMG!! Ruka-pyon??!! DO you have a fever?? Are you sick?? Why is your face so red??" She asked panicking.
" Umm…. The thing is Ilikeyou. Will you go out with me?" Ruka said quickly ignoring her questions.
Unknown to them the whole gang was spying outside. Yes, even our black cat.
" I like you too, Ruka-pyon." Mikan said to his surprised. "Then will you go out with me?" He asked hopefully.
"Hmm?? Go out with you? Sure, come on. The door is this way." She answered.
Everybody fell anime style and started laughing except Ruka and Mikan. Mikan was because she was wondering why they were outside the door. Ruka was because he was stunned that she thought it meant GOING OUT not going out with him. He felt embarrassed.
Hotaru and Natsume were laughing but softer than the rest at her answer.
END FLASHBACK
Mikan and Ruka were blushing madly after reminiscing. The gang was cracking up and practically rolling on the grass. Mikan did not understand at that time but soon realized after a few days. She told Ruka that there was already somebody that she liked and apologized for the mistake.
" Aahh…. The good old days…" Anna said.
The culprit that brought up the funny confession was none other than………………………………………..
