"Kuro-chan. You're thinking about the princess again, huh?" Fai asks patting Kurogane's head.
"She lost her memories. This whole journey is about her, isn't it?" the ninja asks pushing away the mage's hand.
"Not that princess. The one from which you came." Fai looks up with his big sparkling blue eye.
"Tomoyo? Of course, I always think of her." Kurogane crosses his arms and shuts his eyes.
"You do? You never seem to mention her." The magician continues to smile but feels sad inside, and a bit hurt.
"That's because she doesn't need me. At least not now." The ninja shifts his position so he was leaning against a wall.
The mage continued to stare at him in deep thought. "Who needs you now?"
Kurogane opens his eyes so he was staring down at Fai, "The magician who carelessly lost his eye."
Fai looks away shocked and slowly lifted his hand up to the area where his other eye used to be. "That magician is pretty lucky then." Fai's smile stays the same, but is not the same.
"That's different", Kurogane says un-amused.
"What's different, Kuro-pu?" Fai asks looking back up at Kurogane so their eyes met.
"Your smile. It's not the smile you'd usually give."
The magician's smile quickly drops, "What do you mean?"
"Your eye isn't filled with emptiness and sorrow. It's filled with life."
"Life?"
"Ya. Instead of just the plain old emptiness, there's a spark." Kurogane puts his hand on the side of the magician's mage started to blush as the ninja's thumb rubbed against his cheek.
"Heh." Kurogane smiles, pleased with the reaction he got and starts to lean in.
"Uh…." Kurogane puts his hand over the mage's mouth.
"Do you ever shut up?" Fai looks up at him with a terrified, yearning look in his eye. "Now just calm down." Kurogane starts to lean in closer and closer. "I won't hurt yo-" Fai quickly pulls Kurogane into a deep long loving passionate kiss.
Kurogane pulls the mage in closer. Fai wraps his long slender arms around the ninja's neck as the ninja moved his hand down his cheek, wrapping his arm around the magician's waist, using his other arm as support against the wall.
The wizard's arms began to feel numb from how warm everything felt now. In all his life, the wizard never knew how alive he could feel from just one kiss. Then again it wasn't the kiss that made him feel alive, but the person giving it to him.
When he opened his eye, the first thing he saw was the ninja's face. Instead of an angry, eager, annoyed face, he saw a care and compassion, and peace. Fai felt happy, no thrilled, to know that it wasn't just him feeling these emotions. Everything would've been much different if the ninja didn't feel the same way back and Fai would've felt more broken inside.
Kurogane pulls out of the kiss and looks deep into Fai's remaining eye, but in his eyes, both the wizard's eyes were there. The ninja made a vow then that no matter what, he'd get the missing, blue, perfect eye back for the crazy, sweet, emotional magician.
"Don't ever doubt again, that I would think and want to protect anyone else but you. Got that mage", Kurogane says pulling Fai into an embracing hug.
"So if Tomoyo said she loved you?" Fai asked savoring the warmth and protection the ninja's arms had to offer.
Kurogane hits the side of the wizard's head so that it just swung to the side. "Stupid mage." Kurogane pulls Fai into another long passionate kiss and all Fai could feel inside, is belonging.
