New York City's weather was more complicated and moody than a pregnant woman. Yeah, a pregnant woman. It was that bad. Especially in January, with the snow falling one day then the sun shining the next. Right now? Its a friggin' 32 degress with small snowflakes falling around me. Pulling my leather jacket closer around me, I took out my phone and dialed my cousin's number.
"Marty! How far away is this place?" I said, hissing slightly at the cold wind that just hit my face. My cheeks were getting bright red and my eyes were a little runny from the wind.
"Where are you?" His voice was faint but I could hear kinda good.
"On the corner of 7th and Birch. Oh wait. Is it that small ass place across the street from the news stand?" Another faint sound from his end and I immediately headed towards the store. Unzipping my jacket, I slid into the booth and smiled at Marty. We had always been close but since high school started, we had barely seen each other. A girl sat next to him and I smiled lightly at her.
"Douchebag! Introduce me!" I exclaimed at him. He flipped me the bird before motioning to her.
"This Erika. She's my girlfriend." Looking at me and then her again he smiled at her. "Erika, this is Baby, my cousin." Holding my hand across the table, she shook it and smiled.
"Nice to meet you Erika."
"Nice to meet you Baby? Is that your real name or is it a nickname?" I laughed lightly and placed my jacket on the windowsill before tucking my hands underneath my chin.
"Sadly, it's my real name. My mother was a huge Patrick Swayze fan and thought it would be awesome to name her daughter Baby. She even forced me and Marty to learn the entire Time of My Life dance. He's an amazing Baby. I could lift him so high. Plus he was adorable in a dress." Marty gave me a dirty look while Erika and I burst into giggles. Once we finished, I noticed the racks of comics a little away. "Score! I'll be back in a couple of minutes."
Walking over to the racks, I stuck my earbuds in my ear and turned up the music on my phone. Moves Like Jagger by Maroon 5 filled my ears and I smiled, swaying my hips a little. Spotting the Kick-Ass comics, I reached over and leaned back on the rack a little, flipping through it. When a young girl walked in followed by two boys, I paid no mind to them until they sat down with Marty & Erika. Muting the volume on my iPod, I acted like I was still listening to my music when in reality I was listening to their conversation.
"She's not that cute. Her hair is all dull and she's way too tall." A snotty voice came from the booth. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw she was brunette with short hair sitting next to cute, bushy-haired kid. "Plus, she's got like no boobs." For a split second, I looked down at my boobs. They weren't that small! Putting the comic back into the rack, I marched towards the booth and grabbed my leather jacket from the seat.
"Marty. My brother called & he needs me a the garage to get ready for the races tonight. See you tomorrow?" Without even waiting for an answer, I slipped on my jacket before looking at the brunette, giving her a small smile. "And for your information, my C-Cup tits sure as hell beat out your Bs." With that, I left the small comic book store and headed for the nearest subway station.
