Nightmares
Barton gasps as he sits up suddenly in bed, the memory of the nightmare and the sudden movement making him reel with dizziness. He allows the comforting darkness of the room with the faintly glowing moon calm him for a few seconds, his heart rate slows slightly, but he can't shake the nightmare off. Not for the first time, he wishes he had someone to cuddle up with and just forget about the nightmares that come to him more often than he would like.
He glances down to the side of the bed where his bow lay, standing upright against the wall. He smiles at it gently, feeling the terror of the nightmare fade away. He reaches out to it with his hand, feeling the cool metal under his fingers as he brings it up to his chest, turning himself over onto his other side and pulling the covers back on the empty half of the bed. He gently places the bow down and pulls the cover back over it, tucking it in until only the tip is visible to the night's darkness. Barton pats it lovingly as he feels the last effects of the nightmare fade away. He lays back down in the darkness, staring at the ceiling. His bow lay next to him. "As long as I have you, everything will be alright" Barton whispers softly, as he falls back to sleep. The next thing he knows, he's dreaming.
