Author's Notes: So I chose for my first Loveless fic to be a songfic, just cause. :) I chose this particular song because my mother used to sing it to me when I was little, and to me, it means love in every way imaginable. Since Loveless is shonen-ai, and I'm feeling rather emotional right now, here it is! Loveless to "You Are My Sunshine".
Soubi let the aroma of freshly-brewed coffee invade his nostrils as he looked out of the window of his and Kio's flat. The sunrise was beautiful as the young blonde stood on his deck, taking in the first beautiful lights of a Japanese morning. The purple on the bottom most layer in the sky mimicked Ritsuka's eyes, while the lightest yellow imaginable copied Kio's almost bleach-blonde locks. A few clouds threatened to overcome the light, and for some reason, it made Soubi sad. He sighed. The beauty of a simple sunrise never failed to leave him speechless.
Anxious for the day to begin, Soubi checked his cell phone for what seemed like the millionth time for any news or greeting from Ritsuka. After getting back from a week-long trip to the US, he had gotten back home two hours previously. Not being able to get any sleep, he merely pored over his sketches, reflecting on how brilliant he had become since he was an adolescent. Then, he checked his email, watched some TV, read a chapter from the paperback he bought at the airport, and made his first cup of coffee for the day.
Now as he leaned over the railing, the mug sitting on the small table on the balcony beside his cell phone, Soubi thought of his young Sacrifice, beautiful, mature, and his. All his.
You are my sunshine, my only sunshine...
Lost in his thoughts, he didn't hear the gentle approach or the faint breathing until slender arms wrapped around his waist.
"What are you thinking about?" came Ritsuka's whisper.
Soubi started, then relaxed as his Sacrifice of six years and his lover of two pressed the length of his body against his own.
"Just how you remind me of the sunset," the blonde smiled.
You make me happy, when skies are gray...
"Really?" Amethyst eyes flickered with thought and wonder as Ritsuka gazed at the older man.
"Yes, really," the smile widened.
An all-too familiar blush coloured Ritsuka's cheeks as he leaned into Soubi's hug, if getting any closer to him was possible.
"How can you be eighteen and still be so adorable?" Soubi murmured into his lover's hair. Ritsuka had definetly grown, he was now able to lay his head on Soubi's shoulder.
Just like Seimei...
No, Soubi told himself firmly. Not Seimei. This is Ritsuka, remember? Ritsuka...oh, Ritsuka...
You'll never know, dear...how much I love you...
"Dunno," was the mumbled reply into Soubi's powder-blue shirt. "Just lucky, I guess."
Soubi chuckled. "You and I both, it seems."
"Baka," Ritsuka whispered, poking Soubi in the ribs.
The sun dissolved the last cloud as two pairs of lips met, again and again.
Oh, please don't take my sunshine away...
