Adolescent Darwinism – Intro
Following the curving path along the coastal road, as each wave crashes upon the glimmering rocks; catching the first glimpse of the rising sun. Coasting down the final hill approaching the last bend, her eyes catches the two mile sign to her true home. Her eyes quickly scan the creamy white sign adorned with lush green letters reading 'Welcome to Eastridge.'
Continuing on; she reaches the freshly trimmed grass of the golf course lining the edge of the road. Passing the golf course, she sees the geyser of sparkling water from the fountain hidden behind the finely polished, white gates of the Eastridge Country Club or as it's widely known: E.C. The adjacent property just down Atlantic Parkway is Peterson Athletic Club where the boys are found preparing for the coming school year's sports. Just following the gym is Sunken Treasure. Sunken Treasure is the spa of the town where mothers and daughters alike are found striving to be beauty's perfection. Eventually turning onto Sea Breeze Drive, she enters her familiar neighborhood where her and her best friend lived since they were both three. Sighing deeply as she passes her pale blue, two-story home, she recognizes a familiar face in the garden next door tending to her blue-ribbon winning tulips with her young daughter along side.
After twenty minutes, she turns onto Tidal Lane reaching the downtown district adorned with the smallest cafes to the finest dining establishments. Finally moving past her favorite restaurant The Blue Fin, famous for the best Blue Fin Tuna and having the best atmosphere for any occasion. Passing all the main restaurants she comes across the other half of the downtown. Crossing some of the best hangouts for her and her friends such as Fashion Show which has every clothing store imaginable and the Prancing Pony; the one stop cafe to get your daily fix while shopping. Some music junkies avoid the mall rush hitting Urban Mix; the hippest music and instrument store around. If not found shopping for material objects; the adolescents of the town are found at the junction; the fastest connection to the online world.
Hitting the hottest spot in town she sees the fluorescent sign of the club D.T.D: Dusk Till Dawn. To keep going all night long there is a Starbucks next door just incase you tire out halfway through the night. Driving for another forty minutes, she finally reaches the elegant lawns next to the ocean of Eastridge Captain Richard Preparatory Academy: home of the Buccaneers.
