A/N Hello people! Hope you are all enjoying the summer.
Enjoy this special oneshot!
Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter. J.K Rowling owns Harry Potter.
From the lakeside, Harry Potter gazed upon Hogwarts with a pensive expression. It was difficult to think that one of history's famous battles had recently occurred in the halls of this notorious school. After a month, the reconstruction of the castle was finally complete. Earlier in the evening, a grand ceremony was held for the occasion, and he was invited as a speaker.
His speech still echoed in his mind. He had spoken of the victorious battle and the consequences. He had honored the deaths and thanked everyone who had been there. Finally, he had extended his thanks to the people who helped rebuilt the ancient school.
After the rest of the speeches, Minerva McGonagall, new Headmistress of Hogwarts, opened the entrance doors, and the school year was officially started that night.
Harry had decided to stick around after the ceremony. He wanted to remember his days here and spend some time by himself to collect his thoughts.
There had been some good moments, there had been some bad ones through his years. Even after numerous struggles, it was still worth coming here. Imagine what would have happened if he never found out he was a wizard.
Voldemort would rule the wizarding world, and he would remain clueless of his heritage. He would never have met Ron, Hermione, Dumbledore, and everyone else. Instead of Ginny, he would have a muggle girlfriend, and they would settle someplace in England.
It was incredible to ponder over the various futures he could have had. However, that didn't matter at all. What mattered now was what he had accomplished and what he had now.
He turned to Dumbledore's grave and began to walk towards it. Once he reached the tomb, he placed his hand on the cold marble.
"Thank you," Harry whispered. "I never could have done it all without you."
A shrill cry echoed through the grounds. Looking up, he caught a red flash swirling into a circle. Smiling, he added, "Farewell Fawkes."
Giving the tomb one last look, he made his way to the entrance gate.
A/N Alright, so it isn't much, but I hope you enjoyed it nonetheless. Please R&R folks!
