Hey to all the readers out there. Well I would just like to tell you hi and Well this is my first fanfic so I might probably make a lot of mistakes. Well hope you like it. It's just about how Ruthie and Martin find out they are perfect for each other.

Sweet 16

"Ruthie honey, hurry up or you are going to be late for school," said Annie.

"I'm coming mom!" 16 year old Ruthie yelled form upstairs. "Tell Martin I'm going to be down in 15 minutes."

Ruthie stood in front of her mirror deciding what she should wear since today was her 16th birthday, or as some people would call it sweet 16. She finally decided on a white tank top, a short blue skirt and Air sneakers. She applied some strawberry lip-gloss and went downstairs.

Downstairs Annie was making a birthday cake. Sam and David were eating breakfast. Ruthie went to eat her breakfast. "Good morning everybody" she said cheerfully.

"Oh good morning Ruthie and Happy Sweet 16!" her mom greeted her with tears glistening in her eyes. "I don't believe my youngest daughter is 16 today."

"Oh mom," she replied back. "I'm sixteen years old today there is no reason to cry it's no different from being 15.

"Happy Birthday Ruthie!" exclaimed her 7 year old twin brothers, Sam and David in unison.

"Thanks guys," Ruthie replied back and hugged her brothers, just as Martin came through the back door.

"Hey good morning everybody," Martin said. "Oh and hey Ruthie Happy Sweet 16."

"Ruthie honey, come here and see the cake I'm making for you", Annie called over. Ruthie walked over to her mom and saw the cake which was a chocolate cake in the shape of a heart (don't know why, just popped in my head lol) with a outer layer of dark chocolate icing and chocolate sprinkles, the only thing that was left to do was to write "Happy Sweet 16 Ruthie" with some pink icing.

"It looks great mom", Ruthie said sincerely wishing she could eat the cake now.

"Great well don't forget the birthday dinner with the family when you come home from school," Annie said busy, icing the cake.

"Umm…mom," Ruthie started "I was kind of wondering if I and a couple of my friends could go to the promenade after school, maybe the Pool Hall, and eat lunch and just hang out." She asked carefully, and avoiding her mothers eyes.

"Sure honey, I understand," her mom said preoccupied, "But I want Martin to go with you and your friends if it's ok with him."

"Sure Mrs. Camden I don't mind," he replied back.

"Well great!" she exclaimed. "Oh my Sam and David you have to get ready for school, come on," she said anxiously and ushering them out of the kitchen. She left with Sam and David following behind her holding pieces of toast in their hands.

"Well we better get to school, I'm sure you don't want to be late on your birthday and that you want to hang out with your friends before the bell rings," Martin said with a small smile, which looked like a somewhat smirk to Ruthie.

"Umm…yeah," Ruthie said back unsure of how to reply to that greeting but just accepted by smiling back and giving a weird look.

They got up and grabbed their book bags which were sitting on the kitchen counter, suddenly the door opened and in came Mac.

A.N hey how was it? Well see what Mac and Ruthie's behavior are to each other, and what does Martin do…lol keep thinking :D. R&R
