AN: This is what happens when I write at 3 AM. Extreme emoness XP Takes place at the end of 5th year, as the students are leaving to board the Hogwarts Express back home for the summer.
Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter, but oh man it would be so awesome if I did o.o
I hate the rain.
It taunts me. These drops of water always falling, like the sky is crying.
I wish I could cry. But I have to be strong. I have to be the person everyone wants me to be.
I wish I could cry.
"Are you coming, Harry? You're going to be stuck here all summer if you miss the train!"
I wave Seamus off with a smile, as if his words weren't tempting me to waste more time. But I know it's not true. You can't stay at Hogwarts over the summer.
It's raining harder now. Stupid rain.
Ron and Hermione are waiting in the common room for me. They hold me close as we walk through the corridors for the last time this year. They tell me it'll be all right. Only a couple months. Maybe less.
"I know Mum and Dad are asking for you to stay over again. As soon as Dumbledore says it's alright you'll be at the Burrow again. It won't be long, mate."
Hermione's nodding. I smile. They don't realize how long it'll be.
We walk out the front doors and it's still raining. That stupid, bloody, horrible rain! I start crying before I can help it.
"Oh isn't the rain nice? It's just what we needed on such a hot day!"
I look at Hermione in surprise before remembering my watery eyes. But she doesn't even notice them. She continues her speech on the ecological advantages of this rainfall, Ron nodding along without listening, and neither of them notices my tears.
Sometimes I really love the rain.
